Well, with the average patience of players it's gonna be "OMG we wiped to mechanics nobody knows about yet, abandon!"

yeah. there are definitely people out there who run at the first wipe. Personally, I rejoice in the dead bodies and want to go again. Makes me sad when abandon boxes pop up. I hit no every time...almost. A group has to really not try for me to abandon.
