Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I must admit, I wish I felt like I was able to take part in this, too. Alas, with WHM getting absolutely shafted by the 4.0 combat changes, I feel more or less compelled to try out RDM before taking WHM through the Stormblood storyline. By the time RDM hits 60 and can start the new content, I fear there'll already be plenty of guides out there, and player expectations will already be hardening.I'm ready for the wipes. I'm ready to figure out new content for the first time with friends and my FC. this is also the first time I'm around in an mmo for the launch of a major expansion so not gonna miss this.
Who is ready for tons of wipes? Who's ready to be patient and actually learn new content instead of OMG NEED QUICK FARM WITH DOUBLE REQUIRED ITEM LEVEL ONLY!
I remain hopeful, though, that I can burn through things fast enough to still catch some of the initial hype =)
Edit: At least I have a tank friend, so my RDM queues shouldn't be all that bad.

*pshaw* The only people who'd make a fuss over a level 61 dungeon wipe would be the folks who fancy themselves professional endgamers and will likely be gnashing their teeth all the way to 70.

^This, I agreeMy favorite thing about expansions (and to a smaller extent patches) is going in blind. Having no idea what the bosses are like and seeing a piece of gear and thinking, "Woah, what is that? How do I get that?!" After a few months all the regular players will basically know everything, but for awhile there we're stepping into the unknown and I love it. So whenever I do a new dungeon in an expansion I ask my party to please not tell me any boss mechanics or strategies. I love to go in blind at least once and fight bosses with quick wits instead of muscle memory.
So yeah, bring on the wipes.
I also like to figure out the mechanics on my own when I first enter a dungeon or trial - in the end I'm either right or wrong which it's fun to me.![]()
[super inactive on this Forum LOL]

I'M ready for wipes. Part of the reason I enjoy diving into new content is having to figure out how the fights work before I get them down to farm status. Doesn't matter if I'm a Tank, Healer, or DPS at the time.
Sadly, given the... patience levels I tend to see from some players in this game, I fully expect there to be people ALREADY at level 70 on the first day of release (or at least 2 days later) of Stormblood, complaining about how people don't know about mechanics yet. Like when Heavensward released, I fully expect this to happen to me at least once... in a dungeon run:
*Somehow does end up wiping to one of the said new boss fights, due to being new*
"WTF Felicia!? Have you watched a guide before entering this battle!?"
Me: "... it's literally... the first week of an expansion pack... and you expect me to already know this fight like the back of my hand?"
"WTF! LOL SCRUB ALERT! GET GUD SCRUB!" *Attempts to vote kick me or vote abandon*

You can bet a certain forum will be littered with posts from these burnouts saying exactly this.Sadly, given the... patience levels I tend to see from some players in this game, I fully expect there to be people ALREADY at level 70 on the first day of release (or at least 2 days later) of Stormblood, complaining about how people don't know about mechanics yet. Oh I definitely am. Time for lots of detective work. I hope they won't be too easy. I mean we have had to pass dozens of dungeons to unlock the way into Gyr Abania. We have all had plenty of practice.
I'm ready to wipe! I honestly don't watch guides to any of the content and I've cleared most of it. I haven't been harrased too much but I just don't get playing the game like that. Why would you want everything mapped out for you? It takes the fun and excitement out of it.

i wouldn't be Bracken without dying to something stupid... oooh a butterfly...... (skips off)
