I don't know about everyone else, but I always wipe. I wipe good.

I wish I could be optimistic like you. My experience has always been (on release day no less) "you better know what you're doing" or "you better watched a video/strat" and always massive shit talk in party/alliance chat.My favorite thing about expansions (and to a smaller extent patches) is going in blind. Having no idea what the bosses are like and seeing a piece of gear and thinking, "Woah, what is that? How do I get that?!" After a few months all the regular players will basically know everything, but for awhile there we're stepping into the unknown and I love it. So whenever I do a new dungeon in an expansion I ask my party to please not tell me any boss mechanics or strategies. I love to go in blind at least once and fight bosses with quick wits instead of muscle memory.
So yeah, bring on the wipes.

I've noticed that player patience for wiping is usually higher during the first few weeks of new content.

I'm sorry to hear that. So far I've had nothing but good experiences when I've asked to go in blindI think the worst case I've encountered was someone who missed my request and tried to explain the strategy to me anyway, but they were only trying to be helpful and were OK with my request when I repeated it. I enjoy going in blind so much that if I found a party that was unwilling to have a blind tank, I would just bow out of the group and find another.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
It's going to suck for the dps who waits an hour to queue and gets a tank who is like "just used jump potion how do I tank?"
