instead of just having a useless weapon at 0% they could do a three staged degradation.

So you craft a new Winglet Sword, you go out grind for hours die a few times and low and behold your New sword hits 0% your new sword now becomes a Notched Winglet sword slashing Damage is now 40 instead of 100. no big deal right so you keep going for a few more hours, and you Die a few more times. Your Notched Winglet Sword hits 0% its now a Broken Winglet Sword Slashing damage is now 15% and all stats are halved.

Not only would this system give new visual indicators on weapons that are broken and notched, it would also give more time to repair and please crafters as only they can take a notched sword and repair it to its previous state.

if i bought dark matter and put that in the bazzar as well as enough gil to add up to the same price that a NPC would charge for a repair, would any crafter stop and repair me? no. so i'll stick to NPC's

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

    How about this idea:

Items repaired by a crafter degrade at a slower rate than those repaired by an NPC??

Sorry if someone else already suggested, I haven't read all the posts since my last one.

Funny you mention this my Weaver is at 40 and can repair most of my stuff but in most cases I will just run up to the NPC and quickly click through all my items and repair what needs to be repaired because the player repair system is so convoluted and a pain in the ass to use.

Kill it for good I say!

There is a big problem with the NPC in that it doesn't adjust the cost based on how broken an item is so if my item is 98% durability of 0% it charges me the same cost, this is because a player has to use a dark matter regardless of how broken the item is, a good example of the player repair system holding back what would be an intuitive repair system like ... hmmm every other mmo has out there.

The dev team have got themselves in to a situation now where they will forever have to passify and appease the crafting community, I have a craft only to support my main class CNJ and thats how it should be in my opinion.

Other players want to sell all that stuff over priced on the wards, then complain that items we create with those ingredients are expensive.......with no thought in the fact that they caused those high prices by trying to get over with there high ingredient prices. Then complain that we don't beg them to let us fix there stuff.........

One thing is for sure. It is funny how players like yourself complain about how something is so impossibly difficult to get done, when everyone else seems to be abble to accomplich it as if it was second nature.
Are you high? I didn't complain about anything I think things are great right now.

I think the price is just fine. :\

You still need crafters to trade gear and what not and fix your stuff out in the field as mentioned. Someone in your party may be a crafter and be able to fix your stuff while you are out and about! I don't see a problem.
