I would. That's why I like the system, I can change outfits on a whim no matter where I am. If they take it out, what's the point? It'll just be like Armored Core with horrendously massive UI pages and 20-30 menus you have to scroll through at 0 tangible benefit.
While it's nice to glamour anywhere, I would absolutely trade that in for a more robust system. I have no problem visiting the transmog npc in WoW, I'd have no problem doing it in XIV either.
Glamour sucks well I beg the difference.

I've actually enjoyed all the armored core games I played...I would. That's why I like the system, I can change outfits on a whim no matter where I am. If they take it out, what's the point? Seriously? You'd rather your inventory be clogged with god knows how many items, have to go into a Retainer or your Armoire to fetch out seldom-used items, have to maintain supplies of dye and prisms for when you need to re-glamour new equipment? Is all of that REALLY worth not having to teleport and run for 30 seconds to talk to an NPC?I would. That's why I like the system, I can change outfits on a whim no matter where I am. If they take it out, what's the point? It'll just be like Armored Core with horrendously massive UI pages and 20-30 menus you have to scroll through at 0 tangible benefit.
Anyway, I do stand corrected - I should avoid using the word 'nobody'. But I do feel confident in saying the vast, vast majority of the FFXIV player base would immediately trade the pseudo-convenience of in-the-field Glamouring for a prism-less, dye-less system that doesn't require them to store dozens of otherwise-useless items in their limited Retainer / Inventory / Armoury / Armoire space.
Eh. None of my three retainers are even close to reaching maximum capacity, and really the only reason for a third one was so I could have a combat retainer. Still, I don't see any difference between visiting my retainers or armoire and running to an NPC. You're literally trading a tiny inconvenience for a much bigger one, especially with how many gear pieces there are in game, and still growing! Right now? If an upgrade drops or I suddenly get bored of my look mid fight, I can instantly change my look to a new one. Change that and I'll either be forced to go with a mismatched outfit, which I will not do, or complete the instance without the upgrade, which means that it's completely 100% worthless till I waste 20+ minutes going to a random NPC to do something I could've done in less than 1% of the time! I don't get why you want to clutter up something as innocuous as glamour with hundreds of pages of UI.
You make it sound as though teleporting is some monumental task when it literally takes seconds. We already do this for checking market boards since none ever appear in the idle zones. How often do you carry around prisms anyway? I would much rather a system where all I needed to do was farm the item once, but we all know that would cut deep into their retainer budget. I'll settle for being able to glamour different looks on the same set of gear though.Eh. Teleporting? Nah, that's not much work. Running to an Npc? Adds time... opening UI window one... opening UI window two... selecting gear piece... tabbing through the log of a gear list that would by now be pushing through the low four hundred pages... checking familiar looking item, wrong one, tabbing more... selecting item, tabbing through the just under 100 possible dye options in game...
See where I'm going with this? No. Thanks. Eff that.
In case the point is flying over your pretty little head, let me make it clear: I loathe systems that exist solely to make simple actions slogs of busywork. A glamour log? Huuuge slog. Even if it has a search function you'd still need to write down the list of outfits somewhere else in game if you don't want to spend hours going through your closet. Why do you want to spend that much time on clothes? All a glamour log would do is entice me to never change my look instead of bouncing between 20 different outfits.

No. Not a slog. Convenience in that everything you want is right there in a single UI without cluttering your inventory. Every example I linked and described in my previous post is extremely easy to use and has NEVER felt like a slog. In fact, it's extremely freeing to be able to save as many armor appearances as I can get my hands on and let my creativity run wild with creating outfits whenever I wish.
This is hilarious. A glamour log would make it even easier to save multiple outfits. Do you live in Opposite Land or something?
At this point I can't tell if SMASH really have some UI-phobia or is a really good troll... Anyway, saw your compilation earlier Naunet, awesome stuff you got there! Now I feel bad bringing my paint out earlier lol. >_<No. Not a slog. Convenience in that everything you want is right there in a single UI without cluttering your inventory.
