How about you wait for release and see... rather than worry about it in advance and if you don't like queue times, level a tank.
I think we can expect PotD to remain at level 60, and to get an exp nerf for post-60 the same way Leves got nerfed for HW.Yeah I don't thonk the queues are going to change much. Most players will probably level the new classes through potd because you can get to 70 inside potd pretty quick and practice all the new abilities along the way before you actually level them to 70.
Which means they will use their main classes for story content and probably won't affect the DF queues quite as bad as you think.
People are just panicking for the sake of it. Ninja was added in 2.4 when people were working on alt classes, so it will be nothing like this situation. Most people I speak to who are raiding are levelling their mains first ready for the new raid.

A lot of people are attracted to the new shinies because they are shiny. That will wear off somewhat. The other side of it is you will have tanks and healers return to their previous roles simply because of the queues. We might like new shinies too but we also are spoiled when it comes to instant queues and if you don't mind healing and tanking the lure of those quick queue times will call a lot back. That will help balance things quite a bit. Its not like none of the tanks or healing Jobs cant do their jobs when all is said and done. Its just people are annoyed at design changes.
The only place it might have a long term issue is in endgame raiding and again people will probably migrate back to the roles. People often end up playing their not first preference in raid statics so their group has a full roster or has a particular Job needed for their makeup.
The logic that Yoshi is using is:
Introducing a new tank and healer did not dramatically change the total population percentages of those roles. In fact the change was so small as to be considered negligible iirc. That said, introducing new dps will not dramatically change the total population percentages of that role. We'll see if it's a good hunch to follow in the coming months.
Oh, I never really considered that. Well, there goes my theory, lol.
In light of that.......OMG QUEUE TIMES!!!! XD XD XD.
I'm still gonna tank and heal until I hit 70. And you can tag along with me if you see me in PF for the low low price of 25k gil per run! Hehehehehe.
Spiraling
Its srs bzns
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Better rebuild samurai as a tank within the next week then!
