Holy/Gravity only drops to 50%.
So 150 potency average for 5+ mobs WHM VS 42 Potency per tick (~280 potency full duration 30s) SCH.
So basically WHM A3 is 90 potency stronger than B2+M Bane plus they still have Holy spam and Assize.

Holy has been nerfed a few times throughout ARR, I'd say that it's in about the right place now though and Aero III compliments it well. WHM has better aoe burst than 3.x SCH particularly vs larger pulls with less HP per target. SCH was stronger in terms of efficiency and sustainability. Run an expert with terrible DPS and a SCH could carry the run, WHM would be out of steam after a few pulls.
I'll also add that I'm really not a fan of the SCH changes, the shadowflare change strikes me as a horribly misguided quality of life tweak gone wrong, the bane nerf by itself is kind of a shame but in combination with losing both Blizzard II and Miasma II as well as half of the job's dots. They've just sucked all of the depth and subtlety out of DPSing as a SCH. I really feel bad for my co healer because if I'm able to just solo heal everything as is usually the case, his job is going to be deathly boring.

Truthfully I do think they went a little overboard with this change, for both Summoner and Scholar. The absence of Bio in itself will result in reduced damage output. For Summoner, Contagion has been reworked to no longer extend DoT duration which means it won't have the same impact it used to have when combined with Bane. When comparing healer AoE damage, Scholar may very well have become the weakest when dealing with large groups.
I did some quick number crunching. I could be off so quote cautiously, but from what I can tell, if you are up against 5 enemies, Bane needs to last 12 seconds to surpass a single cast of Gravity or Holy. It only gets worse with more enemies.

No, holy's floor is 50% vs new bane being 20%. I guess they didn't appreciate us outdpsing garbage dps at 60 and keeping up so well during certain pulls. So a worse nerf than the holy/flare nerf of 2015.
At this point bane might not even be worth the mp/stacks for many pulls. I'll be sure to be as rude and obnoxious as I can when I come across garage players that cant meet dps checks and say SE doesn't want me dpsing anymore. I wouldn't actually ever do that but we all know it will be said and they won't be completely wrong in saying it.

The Bane nerf affects SMNs, too; it wasn't targeted specifically at SCH, so I don't think it's a question of SE enforcing a gameplay style except to the extent that they really, really don't want too many Jobs to have truly effective AoE. This nerf means that SMN will rely even more on their Aetherflow and Dreadwyrm-linked skills for AoE, and it opens up a significant hole in the SCH toolkit.No, holy's floor is 50% vs new bane being 20%. What I expect will happen is that I'll continue using WHM or AST for repeat dungeon runs to speed up the trash portions, but SCH's place in raids most likely continues to be secure with the addition of Chain Strategem alone.

I was assuming this was a nerf for sch only and smn would've gotten a smn only trait to "buff" bane to unnerfed levels. Now I feel bad for SMNs too ; ;
I'm a Scholar main and I'm gonna have to drop the books now... Its gonna be an absolute boredom fest to do any solo or light party content nowperhaps I'll grind a Scholar just for endgame raiding, but for now
