I have to wonder if like minded people know how transparent they are? "Yeah, I'm gay, but not like THOSE gays, so please love me!" You're just as pandery as you claim creators to be when they include minorities in fiction.
THANK YOU. Ugh, this drives me crazy. Seeking validation by invalidating other people.
That's not what I said. I just said that I'm gay but I just don't like how most of the LGBT people behave 'cause that's because of them that I inherit of a shitty reputation when I say i'm gay. Don't misinterpret.

You don't read a lot of the NPCs' dialogue just spread out around the game do you?
A) Lalafell talks about how he wants to be taken by Raubahn like he's the sultana.
B) Lalafells talk about getting it on with others.
C) Roe ladies talk about feeding men foods that are supposed to boost libido.
D) Ishgardian couple who eventually ends up in Idyllshire working the hard life.
I can go on and on, and on.
And then we have the one couple from Wanderer's Palace.
You clearly have no idea what cis means if you use 'heterosexual' is 'more than enough.'Okay, at the risk of sounding like a jerk, I just cannot take anyone seriously who uses this term. Just saying, 'Heterosexual,' is more than enough to get the point across.
To address the whole comment, it's not special treatment. They're included as a result of biological requirements for a species to exist. Would Harry Potter exist if James was Gay and Lily was into Women? Would Voldemort exist if his mother had a crush on Tabetha Riddle instead of Tom Riddle?
If everyone is LGBT then there is no reproduction going on at all. No characters would exist. For any story to exist as a stable base you -need- characters capable of reproduction. It helps that story continue if enough of the existing characters can also reproduce and thus have new characters for the future narrative.
It's very possible for many things to exist as you say. Trans does not mean same-sex. It's very laughable that use this argument honestly. It means you don't understand a thing about what you are saying. QUILTBAG does not mean people are infertile.
Okay. A bunch of off quest has innuendo, but the main quest has only innuendo from men to the main character. There are no women that show that sort of interest in the WoL. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying the LGBTQ crowd already has two up so asking for more when the game largely isn't romantic in nature seems out of place. You don't read a lot of the NPCs' dialogue just spread out around the game do you?

I am the Fist of Retribution
There's a girl in Revenant's Toll in the Waking Sands who talks about being okay with a -threesome- with her boyfriend's brother. A -threesome-
How is it even two up?????Okay. A bunch of off quest has innuendo, but the main quest has only innuendo from men to the main character. There are no women that show that sort of interest in the WoL. Looks like in 2017 you still assume the sexual orientation of countless characters who make absolutely no mention of it.Tons of other games proudced by other publishers have all featured prominent LGBT characters in the storyline as of late. Yet FFXIV seems conspicuously lacking in this regard.
Thousands of LGBT players play this game, yet it seems there isn't enough representation in Eorzea. There are thousands of LGBT Warrior of Lights, but it struggles the mind to even think of one single instance of an LGBT character in the lore.
In Final Fantasy XIV VERY few characters make the slightest mention of any sexual orientation, identity or romance at all. It simply isn't the focus of this game.
There is zero reason for the team to change that in order to make some sort of "statement."
You can feel very free to think up your own fanfiction filling the hundreds of blanks that the writing team quite evidently left to your imagination. I'm sure you'll find your personal Alphinaud X Warrior of Light and Cid X Raubhan headcanon perfectly enjoyable. Personally, I have a preference for Ysayle X Hilda, but to each their own.
Making characters that appease to this or that group isn't and shouldn't be an obligation.
Square Enix makes games, not politics. Might want to chill a little bit with that rhetoric. You aren't running for election.Square Enix, it is 2017. It's about time you, as a massive corporation with huge worldwide influence and an enviable fanbase size, make a statement that promotes love and triumphs against hate. By doing so you will not only make your fanbase proud, you'll also take a stance against the evils of this world and cast light upon the shadows of society. Defeating homophobia and transphobia starts here, today, in Eorzea.

No, because it'd get way out of hand.
