If thats happening nobody expects you to dps. We would like it to happen only if everyone is doing well and your only other option examining the wallpaper.

No one's asking you to dps if you have a paper tank.

I love how the anti-dps folks always bring up exaggerated extremes like it's every duty finder scenario.

I tank and heal every single day in duty finder, with my static and FC mates and without them. Very, very rarely is a party bad enough in duty finder that I have zero room to dps. Even when a tank over pulls in a leveling dungeon without a tank stance (has happened to me) there's usually room at, say, the end of the pull when only a few mobs are left.

NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO DPS WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TIME, TOO MUCH DAMAGE IS GOING OUT, OR YOU STRAIGHT UP DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE.

If you won't dps when there's literally nothing going on, you're being straight up lazy, so just own it. Then maybe we can give this a rest.

I've got a recent Arboretum roulette run uploaded in my logs, it's fairly clearly labeled. That tank had less HP than me as SCH and was wearing maining accessories. He literally did 1/5th of my DPS to give you some idea of how under geared he was. Pulls were decently paced, the DPS were very respectable and the run took just shy of 20 minutes. I managed a 77% uptime on cleric with that tank and I can assure you that I was being *very* cautious. Tanks don't get much more noodley than that guy was

Consider recording yourself and replaying it from time to time, it's amazing how much you can miss in the heat of the moment and doing this really helps to get a deeper understanding of what's happening around you.
