Most players tend to log on at least once a day. It's not really outside the realms of reasonableness to have to water your plants once a day, especially when you consider how quickly it's done. Anyway you could get a tenant or fc mate to water them for you. It's not like only you have the ability to water them. Well as long as it's not a pot in a fc room or apartment. SE should really let other people water those. It would let people do more favours!

I agree that when servers go down plants should not die but not logging in isn't SE's fault... plants don't just stop growing withering and dying on real life just because your not home...

Not at all. I didn't say it was hard, I didn't say it took a bunch of time, just that it requires daily login. I'm not sure the tone you're reading my posts it, but I'm not trying to be condescending or make this out to be the end of the world. It'd just be nicer to not have to worry about having to log into the game every single day to deal with the plants, even if that means the grow time extends a bit without having to start over because they died.

In real life if someone dies, you can't wave a feather over someone to bring them back.

I'm sure you agree that gardening can yield large benefits, yea? Loads of people use it as a reliable source of income. It's already so easy to do, and if SE took away the one shred of responsibility you must have to successfully grow something, which is to log on once a day to water plants, then it's basically an idiot and neglect proof way of making a lot of money. I don't think SE would want something that can potentially yield such a huge reward to be so insanely easy to do that you literally cannot fail at it. It's already crazy easy as it is.

Apples and oranges. I mean we may as well argue about how lines of blue orbs don't exist at the borders of cities in real life too.

Yes they can have large benefits depending on what you grown and when. Those that watered daily would still get their goods to market faster. I'm not saying I don't understand your viewpoint, but I personally would simply like to not have to worry about the plant death. I'm getting more forgetful and it'd be nice to not be settling down for the night without "Oh god, I forgot to water the garden didn't I" popping into my head. I've been playing a lot of Stardew Valley recently and it's spoiled me! haha

I confess I have gotten out of my bed because of "oh sh** my plants!" but since making it a habit to tend them when I log in and again when I log out, it no longer happens. I just had to make a routine.

Maybe a nice compromise would be to pay your retainers ventures to look after your plants? If my retainer can somehow carry a bath tub alone, I'm sure she can manage watering a few plants.

I really like Stardew Valley! Started playing it again recently. I'm so bad at it though.

It would be kinda cool if rain had an effect on watering plants outside...

Tossing 2-3 days worth of ventures to allow a little break from having to login would be nice. I'd probably manage to forget when I initially gave them the ventures of course, but still a nice option.

I thought it did initially. I discovered the next day that wasn't so. I'm not sure exactly how often it rains in the housing districts, but one of the problems with that would be tracking it. With an FC garden you can see what's been tended to in the log, with a personal house you aren't going to know unless you're logged in and actually see the rain.

Housing areas have the same weather as the city they are associated with... I believe the sky watcher covers these locations
