It sucks and is inconvenient but their reasoning for the unannounced shutdown also makes sense. If the problem is overcrowding and they gave people any sort of grace period, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot as people would be transferring into the would-be closed servers faster than ever before before the shutdown takes effect.

It makes perfect sense and was the best move. If they want to limit the population they can't give any warning for this sorta thing, because it'll just make things worse. Just imagine the surge of transfers to "Oh yeah, we'll be locking Balmung and Gilgamesh for a bit. Not sure when you'll be able to transfer to there later on!"

/Confused, it was over full so you want them to let it be more over full? What should have been announced with the closing is free transfers to a server and a bypass on all limits. That would have been fair. Not lets put more people on the Titanic while it is sinking.

There should never be a warning when they temp close transferring to certain servers. It'd be as hectic as Black Friday gets in the states.

Free transfers off and drastically increased limits were announced along with the closing (along with a comment that they're considering removing the limits entirely). We're just waiting on details about which servers will initially be designated for it along with confirmation of some of the other transfer perks.

In which way? I want to play RP. Balmung is the only server with a real big RP Population. So I personally say "Fuck you Square-Enix, you suck and everything you produced after Final Fantasy 10 sucks" and I think everyone who wanted to play on Balmung for various reasons and got locked out should do the same. If Square wants to lower their population, we should help them.

I meant immediately or concurrently. Both systems should have been together. Not the stick and two months down the road the carrot. It does show a consistent sign of poor insight to community workings.

Isn't the the incentives suppose to hit with Stormblood when they will add the new EU servers which is in about a month?

So you waited 3 years to decide you wanted to "rp" and now you blame SE for locking the server that is more overpopulated than every other server (minus 2-3) by at least 10k players? Your fault that you waited so long...not SE
