Yeah pretty much this. I've been lazy on crafting and selling junk cause I've been too busy enjoying the new changes/content that involves the battle classes. I'm not exactly in danger of goin broke but my funds have taken a major dive. That's my fault though ^^
So instead of saying "without even trying", how about we discuss good solo camps (like the aforementioned Coerthas camp) for various levels of various classes solo, along with what abilities are being equipped, heavily used, etc., gear choices and so on? I don't have any relevant experience as all of my XPing has been done in a party, it's how I prefer to play, but I'm still curious about solo viability and I think sharing the information would help everybody out. ^_^
7UP!
Well that's what i keep telling everyone. Since 1.19 GLD seems very broken... not only their attack has been reduced by more then half but even defense wise i feel weaker but that may also be due to the fact that my HP also got cut by half.If you wanna deck out on stats while soloing, just buy some really cheap low-level materia and fuse it to your gear. If you're still not able to solo viably, you're doing it wrong.
Also, I find it funny that most people who post about having issues with soloing turn out to be gladiators
Not really. It depends on many things. Some may use other skills, some may grind different mobs/leves, some may have different gear or some are just more experienced. It really varies.
Even then, a skill or different mobs don't make you jump from 25k exp all the way to 80k.... that is waaaaay too much of a difference and knowing how the game plays it is not possible. Unless they are grinding a new miracle mob that dies in a few hits and gives you 5k exp per kill....
DoW shouldn't be able to do nearly as much multi-target damage. In every MMO casters are always more powerful. They trade it off for being glass cannons. 30+ if you want great XP then party, it goes a lot faster. Solo content, Leves and Behest are for casual players, you will never see the XP that AoE grinding or a party gets.
@30 ish on my Pug I was easily hitting 50k SP pear hour and that was before it got better with 1.19 link and chain bonuses. And you are using pathing glitches to accomplish what you are on your THM "Bottlenecking/deagro".
For your PUG make sure you are using your counters non stop and 2x for every miss and it will speed up a lot. Don't save your TP just counter with Jarring Strike and Haymaker twice every time.
The key to DoW from what I have found is knowing what to do and when to do it. With DoM right now you barely have to know what you are doing, find a AoE rotation and stick to it.
DoH can get 30k / hr, but its still nothing compared to other jobs. I've gotten 44k/hr with Crafting books. you can go through one of those every 17-18 minutes which makes you hit that if you synth stuff 8-9 levels above you and succeed every time.
Can do 40-45 synths per hour, so 510 (+5 level synth) nets you about 21-23k a hour.
Btw L40-50 is broken now (Check my sig). You can do that in about 2.5-3 hours now. (350k per hour)
Oh, it sure as hell can. If you are grinding on mobs with high DEF like crabs for example your fight will take 3 times as long as say pterocs or antelope. That translates to 3x 25k = 75k. This is just an example, not a literal equation. The point is finding what drops faster without dealing you too much DMG is a huge part of soloing. The other is in what combination you are using skills and what class skills you have equipped.Even then, a skill or different mobs don't make you jump from 25k exp all the way to 80k.... that is waaaaay too much of a difference and knowing how the game plays it is not possible. Unless they are grinding a new miracle mob that dies in a few hits and gives you 5k exp per kill....
Like my PUG example above. If you spam light strike and pummel you are doing crap for damage. Using them to build adequate TP for counters then relying on Auto Attack which hits much harder will give you much faster fights. Haymaker hits like a ton of bricks and combining it with Jarring Strike at the same time you should be able to drop an equal lvl mob in 2-3 evades. At 35 it wasn't hard for me to hit chain 4 consistently and occasionally chain 5-6 solo.
