How would FFXIV be a FFXI-2 by using basic systems found in FFXI? Every MMORPG has a proper search system as well as content. Unless the storyline is about stopping the revival of the shadow lord or the destruction of our reality and having it replaced with Lady Lilith's..it won't ever be a "FFXI-2".

Even FFXIII-2 is based in the same world of FFXIII...thus the "FFXIII-2" -- a sequel.
FFXI-2 is a metaphor... omg. There is no hope for you, Jennestia. None whatsoever.

Most FFXI diehards dont want jump added, so if there isn't a causality there, there is still a strong correlation, and many forum-goers have picked up on the phenomenon by now.

The irony in the argument "I want FFXIV to build off of what FFXI did right" is that you would never say "I want FFXIV to build off of what WoW, Rift, TERA, SW:ToR, Mortal Online, ArcheAge, Blade and Soul, etc., did right." i.e. Add fricking jump!

It would be if Square didn't already start using "-2" to signify sequels.

Because it makes a lot more sense to build off of what you did instead of throwing it out the window (which ironically, is what SW:ToR and Tera did -- Bioware is building off of all they done in terms of accomplishments while we all know the story behind Tera and BHS)

XIV was designed in a way it questioned if they even made an MMORPG before.
