I didn't always get an actual answer. if you would take the time to actually read all the replies you would see some of them are not even about the main point or topic. They are about things that are not even relevant to the actual question. As others in this thread have said the context is just for insight. Not for an actual basis on answering the question itself. People instantly just start flaming and taking sides when this isn't even about such a thing. Please at-least try to comprehend the point in the context and question before answering, that way no one gets off topic from the main point of this discussion/question. Might i add i got my answer by page 2, and even so that does not mean just because i finally made up my mind that i cannot tune in and respond to the continuance of this thread and debate with anyone who see's things other ways. Trying to delegitimize this thread or my replies by saying whats the point is a bit redundant considering no one is obligated to even have a specific or good reason to simply post something in the forums to start discussion or a topic. With your logic why even bother having a forum at all? So if you have an issue with me continuing to reply to people in my own thread to debate or show my view whether my mind is made up already or not, why did you even bother wasting your time replying or visiting the thread? Back to the final part of what you said again real quick. I never said anyone had to isolate any part of what my post says, merely that they tell the difference between the actual point of it and just insight, and stay on subject. If someone cannot tell the difference between insight and an actual point that is on them, not me.If so many people in this thread, including myself, give their input by also asking proof, its because all rules are tacked on with context. Its what decides a warning, a 3 day ban or a a permaban.
You ask us if you should report offensive players or just move on/take it. You got your "yes/no" based on the situation you gave us. What I don't understand is why you ask the playerbase opinion when you've already made up your mind about it and at the same time disregarding the concept that people won't exclusively isolate the bottom line question when presented with everything else that surrounds it.

You might as well say that to everyone who reports people then. Besides having backbone has nothing to do with whether someone should be reported for breaking rules or not so i don't know why your getting off subject here. Instead of saying something like "grow a backbone" why not try presenting an actual thought out and intelligent counter view/point.
No it doesn't GM told me differently. The other person needs to report. GM reports are dealt with on a one way basis.
Just like now, I am now doing that, since you want to defend something nonexistent to start a never ending conversation. You do not need chat logs, proving stuff to you is not worth my time, as it would take too long to find them. GMs do no abide by SS anyway. It is funny how you accuse me of starting things with people when you are doing that very thing to me now.
At the end of the day it is simply this, The OP has every right to contact a GM, as that reply breaks the ToS, If the TC broke the ToS themselves and the other person reported them as well, then they both get hit with something, that simple.
Nyerieri.. telling people to grow a backbone and yet had the nerve to say "You seem like your ready any time of the day to start with people in game." someone is clearly lacking people skills.
was answered several times though:IDK why people are still going on about this proof thing when the intention of this post was simply for peoples input on whats actually justifiable and not based on the TERMS OF SERVICE....you know the RULES of the game. This post is not about proof or sides or getting people on my side. So stop trying to make this about taking sides or seeing proof when that isn't even something that matters to me. It doesn't matter who started what. Breaking the rules is breaking the rules and whether both sides did wrong or just one side did wrong. Doing wrong is still not excusable and should have consequences either way. Because the rules dictate such. The rules are not a debatable thing, they are there and worded clearly so people know what and what not to do in the game. If you break them you get punished. Simple as that.
Nope, if I shouted to ask to hold a fate, and no one does, I get there and see the person I will ask. I done it before and some of the answers I got was "sorry did not see chat" or "I tried holding but so and so did not" and I moved on. A reasonable person does not spew toxic filth over a question, and I kicked people out of DFs before because of it.
Last time I seen that was, doing MSQ with a friend like a week ago, friend was trying to help someone new, explaining weapon effect on healing potency and so on, and some random outsider of the convo bard went off on my friend saying people should not tell people want to do or something, kick passed.
I absolutely would say this to anyone that reports someone for saying something "offensive" or "profane". In my humble opinion it has everything to do with whether someone should be reported or not. They should not be. If you have the inclination to report someone when they say something that hurts your delicate little sensitivities, then perhaps online games are not for you. I asked before, but what actual harm did these people do to you? (other than the whole FATE thing (which doesn't count))You might as well say that to everyone who reports people then. What would be the point of reporting them? Would it make you feel powerful? Like you stuck it to those big meanies? I just don't get it, man. I just don't.

And yet even some of those replies you argue they're irrelevant just because they decided to address other issues in your post because they preface their answer.
You keep saying that the other things are just insight but tell me something: Do you think GMs will simply look at your case, decide everything else but the infraction is irrelevant?
Why are you expecting the playerbase to do the same? If you just wanted us to consider only the idea that whether or not you shoild report someone for being offensive, you should have simply asked that instead
For my opinion on this one..........well i don't need a wall of text to show my view on this as i can just say: What is wrong with someone being sensitive or wishing others would be more respectful and abide by the games rules. With your logic it sounds like if you were to run this game it would be a place full of poverty and jerks. Not everyone is like you and can take someones abuse or harassment. That is why there is GM's because this is reality and there are sensitive people whether you like it or not.I absolutely would say this to anyone that reports someone for saying something "offensive" or "profane". Right because that's my job. I tried, really tried to explain to people the topic itself but we are still at the "You can't assume people holding the fate for you!" subject. I surrender, let's all get some coffee.
I mean, I agree to a point. Heck, I wish everyone I ran into in game and in life was super polite all the time. But that's just not how things work. My point is you're really better off just letting these things slide off your back rather than getting work up over them and wanting to report people for it. Etiquette rules in a game like this are not, nor should be, black and white. There is a ton of grey area involved, which is why context is soooo important.
Also... Poverty? wut?
