I wouldnt make too much of a fuss about it tbh "Rumors say this unique bird used to be a hero's companion long time ago" or "It is said that not even a realm-shaking calamity can break the bonds between you and this loyal steed."
I dont know, I can't word it in a very sophisticated, epic way cos I no good anglish speek, but i doubt they will put much more thought into this than that.
Heck, I wouldnt even be surprised if they simply translated the text as is into chinese and be like "Not like anyone is gonna read or question this anyway"

Why dont SE just give the legacy players a new exclusive item every year that they are subbed. SE can then give away the old exclusive to regular players who have subbed for X amount of time.

ah yeah. great idea. Waste development time for a fractional amount of the current player base that still applies as 1.0 players for them to have more unique legacy items that the normal player base will never get (despite currently playing)
so the normal player base can get old legacy rewards that were never meant for us in the first place. Excellent idea. I bet this isnt gonna cause a sh*tstorm at all =D

Because the legacy items were; and are, a reward for sticking around and supporting the game through it's worst. You could argue that without those legacy players, there very well may not have been a "A Realm Reborn" to even play, thus we wouldn't be here today.

Which would be entirely untrue. SE had every intention of remaking the game with or without legacy players. The damage that 1.0 did to the franchise had to be resolved before doing anymore damage to their reputation. Also the fees legacy players paid was a drop in the ocean compared to how much money they lost.

I wonder why Yoshi and his team decided this. For those of you not familiar with Chinese server, despite the game is managed by a third party company in China, the company has to get the approval from SE to make any decision regarding the game. So, I think SE basically knows and allowed them to do this.

AFAIK, Legacy Chocobo is a reward for legacy players, yet there was technically no 1.0 in Chinese server, and now everybody on Chinese server can get legacy item from cash shop. Is it a good thing for them to make money out of this? Does it hurt the feeling of actual 1.0 players?

Yoshi has nothing to do with this, no matter the region. There is a separate group of people who decide what gets put on Mogstation, why, and when.

Why would SE comment on something that went into the Chinese version of the game? A version which is managed by a third party? What happens in the Chinese version of the game is none of our business for all intents and purposes. It has no bearing on our version of the game.

So long as they never release the tattoo or chocobo in places that had a 1.0 i'm fine with it, if they do it would almost definitely make me quit forever.

Say what you want but these things hold great value to me and a large part of that is their exclusivity. I've been with this game since 2010 and interested since it was Project Rapture. This has always felt like an appropriate thank you for time invested.

Blizzard did a similar thing with World of Warcraft for it's 10 year anniversary giving those with a continuous subscription since launch an actual statue for free as a thank you.

I'll never understand why some people get their panties in a bunch when items lose their exclusivity. It literally has no impact on your thing when someone else has it, too.

I had a bunch of exclusive stuff in WoW, and I never gave a shit if the items became more common. It doesn't make mine less cool somehow.
