Never said anything about adding traps etc to regular dungeons. Although if added to regular dungeons they wouldn't get boring and tedious, if there was more of a reason to go in them than grab some armour to use for seals or cap tomes. Why can't all mobs drop common and rare crafting mats instead of a few in chests every so often or from a handful of mobs.

Traps/puzzles would not become tedious and boring if they offered decent rewards i.e extra tomes, craft/gathering scrips,minions, node mats. Then I think people would take time out from speed running a dungeon. Also are you telling me that the dungeons are not tedious and boring atm? They are the same strat drag mobs from a-b, avoid aoes, burn mobs ,deal with boss and repeat...
