"Native Resolution 4K will be given priority than Direct X 12 support."
Please give us the ps4 Pro patch update! Ps4 pro users won't benefit much from FFXIV until we get a proper ps4 pro patch that utilizes the full potential of the hardware. Right now we are only using half of its power and it would be nice if developers took the ps4 pro patch into consideration.
This! Any indication that the pro hardware unlock will be in patch 3.5?Please give us the ps4 Pro patch update! Well, even if SE doesn't support PS4 Pro directly, it looks like Sony might take care of it anyway;

Not the most ideal solution, but certainly useful if SE waits until 4.X to support the Pro.
That's awesome news! That'll do more than fine until 4k/HDR in Stormblood ;DWell, even if SE doesn't support PS4 Pro directly, it looks like Sony might take care of it anyway;

honestly... i wouldn't waste money on the PlayStation 4 Pro, i am fairly certain the "pro" stands for prototype. LOL no, seriously... Sony is going to have to make a response of some kind to Microsoft's new way of wanting to do things. compared to how Microsoft would like to have it, the PS4 Pro is a half-assed cash grab. it doesn't even have native 4K support! (for disc-based game it will only up-scale, which defeats having improved hardware. digital games will have native 4K support, though. i forget, but think they added full 4K support for video... but again, only digital/streamed or MP4 formats will be 4K. your discs are useless.)
the PS4 Pro is a JOKE! look up some youtube videos comparing games that have been patched for better graphics and framerates... even after the patch, the xbone S still plays better! the difference in graphics is almost unnoticeable, but the xbone S plays much smoother. it is seriously pathetic. the problem? Sony places too much emphasize on quality. always have... it is funny, though, because they stopped producing quality merchandise years ago.
and this boost mode? i own the original model from when PS4 first launched. comparing the Pro in boost mode to the original side-by-side... there is literally NO difference when playing this game.
also the PS4 Pro is supposed to have a faster operating interface for your storage. so i disable boost mode and compare load speeds with two of the same SSD's... again, ZERO difference. the PS4 Pro seems to do absolutely nothing. (it doesn't even run quieter) don't waste money on it. i certainly regret it.
meh.
You seriously have no clue what you are talking about.... ^
For one, FFXIV is NOT optimized yet for the Pro, boost mode is negligeable sure but for some games it does in fact work
And lol don't bring the garbage that is Xbox into the conversation
i know FFXIV is not currently optimized for the PS4 Pro. however, the boost mode does absolutely nothing for the game. i feel no difference in places like Idyllshire, no FPS boost what-so-ever. even games like Just Cause 3 have no noticeable improvement, despite what others claim.
regardless of any of that, it doesn't explain Sony's lie about the operating speed for the SATA interface. i have tested several digital games, games that i KNOW receive a benefit from using an SSD as opposed to the standard/stock HDD. and just to be sure, i have used different SSD's as well. older or newer interface controllers haven't made any difference.
it is always possible that those games were operating at their max even with the old SATA 2 speeds. but i am pretty certain that FFXIV should benefit from the increased speeds, regardless of patching.
the original xbox blew the PS2 out of the water. and while the 360 had one terrible launch and the specs are lower than the PS3... it still played games better. you could even mod games on it. we are at the PS4 now, and even with the upgraded hardware and games being patched... the xbone is STILL playing games better. Sony is obviously doing something wrong.
either way, SE is for sure working on that patch. so we will see a good difference here for long. ^_^
Interface speed and SSD performance are not going to change because of a clock bump on the PS$ APU. Not sure why you think that they would. Ignorance is one thing, being belligerent about it is quite another.
Boost mode is a 10% upclock vs regular PS4. It doesn't magically unlock a speed doubler, it doesn't grant access to the other half of the GPU. The reality is that for games that are bottlenecked, a 10% overclock could be the grease that let's it work, while for others is's just a 10% clock bump and they're frame rate locked in any case.
