For one, FFXIV is NOT optimized yet for the Pro, boost mode is negligeable sure but for some games it does in fact work
And lol don't bring the garbage that is Xbox into the conversation
i know FFXIV is not currently optimized for the PS4 Pro. however, the boost mode does absolutely nothing for the game. i feel no difference in places like Idyllshire, no FPS boost what-so-ever. even games like Just Cause 3 have no noticeable improvement, despite what others claim.

regardless of any of that, it doesn't explain Sony's lie about the operating speed for the SATA interface. i have tested several digital games, games that i KNOW receive a benefit from using an SSD as opposed to the standard/stock HDD. and just to be sure, i have used different SSD's as well. older or newer interface controllers haven't made any difference.

it is always possible that those games were operating at their max even with the old SATA 2 speeds. but i am pretty certain that FFXIV should benefit from the increased speeds, regardless of patching.

the original xbox blew the PS2 out of the water. and while the 360 had one terrible launch and the specs are lower than the PS3... it still played games better. you could even mod games on it. we are at the PS4 now, and even with the upgraded hardware and games being patched... the xbone is STILL playing games better. Sony is obviously doing something wrong.

either way, SE is for sure working on that patch. so we will see a good difference here for long. ^_^

Interface speed and SSD performance are not going to change because of a clock bump on the PS$ APU. Not sure why you think that they would. Ignorance is one thing, being belligerent about it is quite another.

Boost mode is a 10% upclock vs regular PS4. It doesn't magically unlock a speed doubler, it doesn't grant access to the other half of the GPU. The reality is that for games that are bottlenecked, a 10% overclock could be the grease that let's it work, while for others is's just a 10% clock bump and they're frame rate locked in any case.

like, i totally understand what you are saying. but the specs clearly state a SATA 3 operating interface. even if they don't have any other improvements, just that alone should allow for faster loads times. at least, in most games and most certainly FFXIV.
