Like I said I fully understand why this system is in place but there are many reasons why players may not be able to play for a month. I could be hospital dying.

The fact that there is a subset of people who want to take housing away from others is something SE needs to deal with, yes. Because they're the only ones able to do something against it. But the fact of the matter is, OP wants the timer removed so he can take a 45+ day break from the game and not worry about his house, except he can take a 44 day break, come back for 20min, go into his house, log back out and resume his break.

You don't need to remove restrictions on housing to get around an issue...

Let's hope it's not halfway through the expansion or right at the end. Because I'm fairly certain a lot of people will want the expansion for the sole purpose of getting those japanese houses stuff.

Well I'll agree to disagree with you. I believe the (majority) of people on this thread are acting like they are entitled to a house. There are a few individuals if you read their posts that realize they are not.

You also must of not played 11 much? 11 also had an island that you got from the last expansion that you could do dailies on etc. You owned that, but.. was no decorating.

My big point in the end is, be careful what you ask for. They could make the current system worse. ^_^

It sounds like the ones without houses are so upset about not having one, that they don't care what the reason is for a person being away from the game. They want what you have, and there's nothing that will appease them to let you keep it. I find that hilarious.

Gonna just repeat what I've said before, and I'm not trying to sound cold or callous by saying this.

I fully respect what members of the military do for their country. I am able to sleep peacefully because they defend our country. I am also sympathetic to those who are struggling with real-life crises, such as a personal loss (been there), financial struggles (been there as well), serious illness, or a natural disaster that has taken away their ability to play. But none of these are reasons for SE to give these people special treatment with regards to their housing plots.

This comes from nothing resembling bitterness about being unable to own a plot due to how limited they are. This comes from frustration about people circumventing the demolition by just logging in every 44 days, touching something inside their house, and logging out only to return in another 44 days (therefore not even USING their house), and from frustration seeing people demanding special treatment due to things outside their control.

Yes, it sucks not being able to control the fact that you (general "you" here) can't afford to play right now, or that you will be unable to play due to real-life responsibilities (that should take precedent over a virtual house any day), but SE is under no obligation to give you special treatment just because you pay a subscription. Because so do hundreds of thousands to millions of other people. I'm tired of seeing people think they deserve to get some sort of special treatment over others. Especially for something that, at the end of the day, is extremely trivial in the grand scheme of things.

Read up on what instance means in programming. I'm not using the term in a MMO sense. Even though they are closely related.

You cannot disregard the MMO term because it explains how instances are used in this game, ward instances are never closed, they are live using RAM and CPU 24/7 as long as the server is running, we were explained as much before, which is why they can't freely add more wards, but house instances are closed once you exit or logout and the position of furniture is saved, recreated when you re-enter the house.

This is also why we're getting an increased item limit inside houses but not outdoors, because outdoors is always taking resources.

On the one hand, I do like to take some breaks without risking my little plot.

On the other hand, this system is the only reason I even got a house to begin with.
