Folks.. it's quite simple. If you don't feel the game is worth a sub yet after checking out 1.2 (many of you aren't even giving it that chance) then don't sub. Yoshi's already acknowledged that he realizes not everyone will sub because they'll not find it worth the money yet. So he's already stated, to keep track of it and maybe come back after 1.21 or 1.22 or so to see if it's more up what you find worth paying for.
But even that's not good enough for some of you, is it? No no no. Not for the self-entitled, ego-centric "me me me" crowd. It's gotta be your way or it's no good, right? You will have your cake and eat it too.. because you're entitled to it. Right?
For those of you whining about "not getting your money's worth" with all your ridiculous and melodramatic hyperbole... Give it a freaking rest. Some of you people have gotten more than your money's worth out of your initial purchase, especially those with multiple 50s and myriad achievements racked up over the past many months.
You bought the game, you've been playing the game - on SE's dime - for upwards of 13 months now. Now that they're going to reinstate subs, suddenly "you didn't get your money's worth". Well isn't that convenient.
Sorry... but yes you have. You've played the game, you've made progress, you've done any combination of developing your characters, leveling classes, fought raid-class bosses, completed dungeons, gotten some nice gear, did quests/missions, did leves, joined LSs and on and on.
In short, you've been playing the game all this time. Period. End of discussion.
FFS.. if you don't feel the game is worth a sub yet... then don't sub. It's as simple as that.
And don't come back with "what SE needs to succeed" or "they won't have enough subs" and such.. Not a single person posting here knows what SE needs. Only Yoshi and SE knows that. And from what they've stated, they are prepared to see it through to 2.0 regardless of how many end up subscribing. So, while you're at it... cut the crap with all the arm-chair analysis of "what SE needs for FFXIV to succeed". You have no idea.
It boils down to a simple decision.. If you feel the game is worth the sub after 1.2, then subscribe and continue playing. If you don't feel it's worth the sub... then don't subscribe and wait 'til you think it is.
