Weapon(s) Lore in XIV (SPOILER)

With us battling Ultima Weapon, Proto-Ultima Weapon, and now with the impending battle we may face with Omega. I wonder if this will open up XIV to include lore or battles with the other weapons that have been seen throughout the Final Fantasy series. It makes me wonder if the Allagans created more weapons to defend time, or to defend them from being discovered, possibly with their entire civilization living on a settlement within the bend of time. Do you think we will encounter Emerald or Ruby Weapon within the Bend of Time?

It's hard to say. Seems FFXIV has intertwined different aspects of different Series all into one. Something like Emerald or Ruby weapons might be possible in a different manner and would be nice how they did it with the TRI-Ad. It might be good as a cross over or limited time events like they did with Lightning and Dragon quest. To incorporate it into the story line may need to tie in some way which will prove a challange. Perhaps in an upcoming expansion? who knows . I'm hoping for some nice cross overs my self.

Since Ultima Weapon is the only franchise staple, I'd say the chances are somewhat low. It's certainly a possibility, but Ultima Weapon and Omega (sometimes Omega Weapon) are the only ones that recur throughout the franchise - Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, and Sapphire Weapon were all unique to VII as planetary self-defense mechanisms.

As always I won't say it's impossible, but the likelihood if that happening seems somewhat low at the moment.

There is an Ultima Weapon creature, an Ultima spell and an Ultima Weapon sword. And these there are not necessarily related. In VII while UW drops the UW it casts Ultima Beam, but not regular Ultima.

Maybe they're saving the weapons for a future expansion, I can imagine Omega could pull a Maximum Carnage/Separation Anxiety Spiderman Arc by the end of 4.x and spawn Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, etc to be the new "primals" to fight.

As noted in the links above, omega and omega weapon are not the same entities, I don't think they would link omega with the other possible weapons.

Also I have my own theory that Omega isn't allagan made, just bound and controlled by the allagans. It's pretty odd Nero couldn't find any sort of documentation of Omega in the control room, resorting to just waking it up and shutting it down, this would fit the theory of Omega being a dimension hopper (like Gilgamesh)

Funnily enough, Omega Weapon wasn't even tied to FFVII originally (Only being shoehorned into the franchise through DoC).

You seem to be mistaken as to what the Bend of Time is about, and what Omega is. It is predominantly a FFV raid in theme, not a FFVII raid.

We may (likely?) see the other weapons at some point in the games life cycle, but definately not in 4.0.

I am aware of the difference between Omega and Omega Weapon; however, to my knowledge there is no instance of Omega and Omega Weapon making an appearance in the same title. Since Omega has already appeared, the likelihood of Omega Weapon also appearing is rather low.

Until this game, Shinryu and Omega had (afaik) never actually squared off against each other.

The unwritten "rules" of past titles doesn't appear to hold as much sway over XIV as perhaps we thought.

That much is true, but the way you wrote Omega (sometimes Omega Weapon) made it sound like Omega Weapon and Omega are different names for the same machine. And we both know that is not true. Funny thing is, Omega Weapon would have made sense in the story as it is traditionally an even stronger version of Ultima Weapon. So pretty much the role Omega plays in this story.
