You do have a right to opinion. Of course you do, and I respect that. So allow me to express mine: Seeing clothing that covers very little as sexual and/or objectifying is a very narrow-minded and antiquated view to have this day and age. Every player in this game has a canvas to work with that is otherwise known as their character. So each of us is an artist in a sense with how we make them look. The show your 'insert race" threads are long running, and still active for a reason.

It doesn't have to be sexual or objectifying. It's the viewer themselves that make it this way.

Fair point. My views on "sexy" designs stem from how each garment serves its purpose, plus target audience. All these factored in, I make an assessment. Despite the presence of sex in game, I still see XIV as more conservative and anything skimpy still has an essence or flair and style to add to the purpose of the glamour. The designer likely didn't think of all this the same way I do.

Now, TERA or Blade and Soul on the other hand, perfect. Like, whoever did this could get hired on the spot for this quality of work if they got to the right person. Just, not for XIV.

As far as functionality goes, player view will always steer towards a glamour being the process of making a piece of gear 'appear' as the chosen item. It's perfectly valid when taking to mind the lore of the game, but still has its limits. Gear like this would still be gender and job exclusive. I myself prefer my gear to appear functional for combat, but don't hold it against others who feel differently. Ultimately what I care about is that your iLv is appropriate for the content being ran with importance placed on weapon.

What I would like to mention though is that these glamour items are so exceptional, that I would break my own rules to glamour them over combat gear under the guise of the magical effects of glamour that other players use. The reason why I make that exception in this case is because they are job exclusive. Job exclusive items are without question the most desirable for me, and I will do whatever it takes to have them. I am not the only one with this mindset, which is why I highly implore that SE take advantage.

We've all heard that glamour is the true endgame, but the fact that it can actually get mmo players to sub for FFXIV is on a whole different level. I see both the business and player demand sides for this. All that said, I also know that sexy can be a female covered head to toe. Hilda just might be the sexiest NPC in FFXIV existence imo, and all you can see is her collarbone and neck. She's sexy because she's badass, and looks good kicking ass.

So all I am doing is inviting you to try and see things from a different perspective. I am not asking you to suddenly like what you dislike or see differently than others, but it is only fair to acknowledge that not everyone will sexualize/objectify a scantily clad female character in the game.

Couldn't have said it better myself. What I find amusing about this particular argument is it's often women asking for the supposedly "objectifying" outfits. I know, for me, it's less about the sexiness and more variety. I like colours! And our current bikini sets are kinda blah. The fact these are all job inspired makes them especially appealing for a fun little add on. That's just me though.

Exactly this ^ The 1st thing that came to mind when I saw this was how pretty they looked.. It stands out and brings some uniqueness (yes I dared to used that word lol) to game that's sorely lacking compared to what's already here (Can only take the same design model and repaint it so many times before it becomes tiring lol).. And agreed that the fact that there job related makes me wanted it that much more!
