Story was ok. I liked the Yda revelation. The solo trial wan't bad either.
It wasn't on par with the 2.55 epicness though.
Also let's not complain about the lack of a full trial dungeon because last time we gave a very negative feedback about Steps of Faith. So they decided to not repeat something like it.
Today's patch was a bit slow paced. I expected something more epic and more action.
Maybe they want to keep everything for SB MSQ.
Also Papalymo is assumed dead right?
They didn't showed him dying though or his dead body or a funeral of some sort.
Is his body supposed to be dissolved into aether after the spell?
If so they could show him die on screen just like with Moen.
Moen got a proper death scene and a funeral scene.
Here we have someone that he is supposed to die off screen but we never see him or his body.
We saw everyone else dying on screen though just not him. I think they plan to "revive" him somehow later on.

I believe Papalymo is long gone by now. We can assume his aether, the aether tied to the cocoon of light was the last of him and dispersed when I KNEW WHO THAT DRAGON WAS appeared and fought Omega (i wanted him to loose xD). Also the spell Papalymo placed on "Yda" is gone with his dead, so...

His Aether was used to bind Shinryu, it could be that some form of Papalymo might return when we fight Shinryu, but right now, I think he is dead.

The time between the start of 1.0 and 2.0 could be longer that 5 years though, so the Yda you get to meet in 1.0 when you start in Gridania could be the real Yda. We could use that to explain the voice change.
