My opinion:

Found Gosetsu to be insufferable and obnoxious (never been a fan of the large and loud character archetype)
Solo fight was the same old fight against Imperial forces, just with an annoying, cowardly brute as opposed to the cold, intimidating generals of before.
Omega vs Shinryu was AMAZING (Am I the only one that thought Omega looked cute, fighting Shinryu on equal terms?)
Yda/Lyse reveal wasn't a shock as pretty much the majority had already guessed she was the MNK in the Stormblood Trailer.

Overall, I'd give it a 3/10 with only the Omega vs Shinryu cutscene being the only worthwhile addition to the story.

I honestly don't get why people are trying to say Gosetsu is a Hyur.. He's clearly just a Roe with a unique face model, there are several characters with them doesn't mean they're new races just because they use something we can't. Heck Lyse has a unique model, is she now a new race?..

That being said, he's definitely my new fave NPC.

It never even occurred to me he would be anything but a Hyur. He has Hyur coloring and features, a Hyur name (certainly not a Roe name at any rate), and there's no indication other than his model and taunts that he'd be a Roegadyn. This game is hardly against re-using a 3D model for entirely different monsters, so why not for unique NPCs?

I think Gosetsu is awesome. Like most I expected the stern, serious type which while not bad would have been fairly forgetable as we already have plenty of those. As it is he makes a nice contrast to Yugiri so I'm quite looking forward to seeing more scenes with them.

Omega vs Shinryu was awesome and I agree that Omega is kinda cute.

And yeah the Yda reveal wasn't a huge shock though it's quite amusing that the two most commonly held theories about the monk in the trailer were both correct.

You dont need a loud oaf like character to be memorable, any type of character would easily be in opposite contrast to yugiri as she is soft spoken and to the point person. A serious but funny character would fit gosetsu better like maybe a more serious drax from guardians of the galaxy.

See, I always assumed that Yda was part of a large extended family of several sisters, who frequently disowned her over her politics but still loved her and so sometimes let her back into the family. The sisters' names were Ada, Eda, Ida, Oda, Uda, and sometimes Yda.

Lol!! ok that was hilarious.

I mean, I don't know, I had the thought that Gosetsu might be half Hyur and half Roe. His name doesn't fit in the lore we currently have for Roegadyn and, while his body fits that of a Roegadyn, his face definitely resembles that of a Hyur. But it's not like we've had the opportunity to see too many (if any) older Roegadyn in the past... At least, none that I can think of off the top of my head.
