The story has been diabolical in my opinion. This patch was just a way for us to re-sub, the story almost seemed like complete filler, there were no trials at all no nabriales, no steps, no epic ness and nothing to tide us over until SB.

I agree honestly, with every single point. The thing in Ul'dah left a bitter state, the warriors of darkness appeared one MSQ patch and left the next one, the ending of the warring triad arc was shallow and it made no sense how we invited that ascian pupil to the scions, and now this quick HW story ending with no cliffhanger, nothing to look forward.

After this I worry about the quality of the story in SB.

Steps of Faith was not the last story trial though, no one refuses to stay in ravana nm, bismacrk nm, thordan nm, nidhogg nm or the triad nm.

People quit steps because it wasn't well designed, there was no way to reset the fight even if the fight was doomed to fail.

I thought the solo instance was lots of fun. <3 Explode all the things!

Loved the character interactions in all the cut scenes (Nero was hilarious. the by-play between him and Cid was great). I feel like there would have been more impact had there not been such a big gap between patches, but I really enjoyed it. ^_^

Also Tataru is adorable.

Was hoping there'd be more of a lead-in for the Othard portion of Stormblood, because knowing something is going down in Doma was a bit of a given.

I wasn't expecting a new trial, but getting to go to town on the imperials with the magitek armor was fun. I wouldn't mind more completely/partially vehicle based fights (Dusk Vigil HM's second boss and A2 being the ones we have currently).

I was really surprised that Yda wasn't Yda. I like her the most and i'm not sure how to feel about the fact that she is dead but then I never knew her and I liked her sister all along or however it goes. Just not sure how to feel, I like the mask and her humour and her lack of intellect vs strength. I hope she doesn't change much, I just don't know how to feel. I've looked around but can't see her as an NPC in the game right now, not near the wall in east shroud or at the scions place, anyone seen her?

I like the patch, but I was expecting longer cinematics.

We know about Omega. But I wasn't expecting Shinryu, but even have sense, as both are together the hardest bosses on FFV. Eveyone was convinced was Rhaglr because it was Ala Mhigo deity. It was cool see him at last in the game.

Also I love Gotetsu presentation. I was thinking as a serious NPC, but was funny guy. Also the preview of some Samurai skills was cool.

The only thing I don't like much is the final trial. I was expecting a trial boss, not a solo trial. But whatever.

No, Lyse says the real Yda died 6 years ago, that was before the time of 1.0 players.

I guess it depends on how long we were in 1.0 before we got teleported.
