1. I've literally seen people just skip out on even PvE content because they can just do it later. You think skipping a competition and still being able to get the reward later would be different?
2. So why not just compete IN those two seasons? It's one thing if you missed out entirely; that's not that player's fault. If they competed and didn't win, well, that's just how it goes. But there's no going back.

Feast still would have the same requirement of top 100/30 regardless on top of seasons are very long and players still have to compete and will still be exclusive items that most people will not get due to time or spots available and if they did we are talking years later for anything close to seeing old rewards even at uncommon levels. But if they keep putting out new rewards, the new rewards would be even more exclusive for fresh season as some players might opt for older rewards. Better system all around.

You say better, but if players would be competing just to have a chance at old rewards, wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of new ones? At a certain point, it would be counterproductive to even bother adding anything new if people will just opt for what they missed. "I won Season 6, now I can get the Season 2 reward I wasn't around for. . . I won Season 7, now I can get the Season 3 reward I didn't win. . . I won Season 10, now I can finally get the Season 6 reward!. . ."

Well it depends on what you want, but it would just be a choice. You could get the new reward everytime if you wanted and not worry with the old. If anything, I think people would be more motivated as some seasons currently don't offer what certain people want and thus would not bother competing.

Thankfully FFXIV is not WoW, now there might be some things that are the same like many mmorpgs but FFXIV has it's own style of handling things that mostly have to do with certain time line changes, patch reveals, and incentives for older content.

So far FFXIV has the same style as others. Not making previous season top rewards available to people that didn't participate in those seasons.

Like I said SE do things in a certain time line when they feel the time is right or already have a path set for it after content is so old/run it's course. They are just waiting for lv70 pvp and the changes coming with it more than likely and they reveal that old rewards will become available one way or another. My bet would be that feast lv60 will just be 4 seasons long and repeat with same prizes while they do new modes and stuff with lv70 where all the changes will happen.

How about at the end of each season you "buy" your reward from a vendor with your feast points/rank/placement/etc. Each season they add a new rewards. You would be doomed not to get everything if you skip a season, but still be able to choose previous season rewards if you wanted.

So what you are saying is, if we whine enough, SE would give us another opportunity to get the mounts thru achievements and just give top 100/30 more glamour accessories or outfits?

It was mostly just for the public outcry on the forums and was done as a quick band aid, doesn't mean they didn't have the plan all along to revisit old rewards eventually but regardless I could say you are entitled for thinking exclusive things are something you must be entitled too because you got it from the first season it was available so that must mean that no one else can get it no matter what cause they will never earn it... Lol. Whatever helps you feel entitled, right?

Well, if you compete for a prize and win it, then yes, you are entitled to it.

If you don't compete/don't win, then no, you are not entitled to it.

That's how competition and life work.
