Ahh... Algebra How I love you so... 2x-4=6..... Bring 4 over to 6 by adding 4 to each side... 4's Cancel out.... 6+4=10...Wow this thread...
Also math is never "made up" its the only thing that is true, the numbers are merely, dare I say it, representational and honestly do not matter (yes read me correctly, they do not matter; that is the beauty of math when you are merely looking at a + or - percentage; whether the player base is 1 to 1million it doesn't matter what matters are the percentages, percentages, percentages) Also to make a claim that people don't know what they are doing when they show you plain out mathematical fact is just silly.
The information is out there, you can google the average income for all kinds of employees and use those are references, we know that there are 250 employees, we know they probably make 40k a year, we know there are 11 months of billing (not 12; see the .pdf for ref) we know the price is 12.99 full or 6.49 half, the only unknown is x = player base, but if you use the same number for x then it doesn't really matter what x is to get the percents and your gain/loss. I hope all these makes sense to the mass, its not hard math its basic algebra at best and you don't really need a room full of accountants to do it. (lol at whoever made that statement)
2x=10 Gotta get x by itself... so Divide 2 to each side... 2 cancel out....
x=5
Jokes aside, I agree with your Math Omega ^^
No.ok so its 60%? the whole point is that Yoshi himself considers 2.0 to be the version that is worthy of competing with other MMOs. We get our trial periods then, PS3 users get it then, which is just more evidence that 2.0 should be when they charge us, even at all. I think its perfectly fair to ask for a reduced price until then.
Wrong again.
This has nothing to do with version 2.0. Now you're putting words in Yoshi's mouth, or otherwise trying to impose your own meaning in what he's saying. It doesn't work that way.
He states, quite clearly, 1.2 is when he feels the game will be at a stage where it's acceptable as a launch-status MMORPG to charge subscriptions.
His statements about subscriptions have nothing to do with version 2.0... your assertions to the contrary notwithstanding.
If you feel it's not worth paying for 'til 2.0, by all means don't re-enable your account and wait 'til 2.0. That's perfectly within your right to do.
But in the meantime, stop spinning, twisting and distorting the facts and what Yoshi himself very plainly says to serve your own personal agenda. Your personal version of what's happening or what should be happening - in your opinion - is not a mandate for SE and does not override nor undermine what Yoshi himself has stated.
Stop making shit up, in other words.
The facts are out there. What Yoshi has stated, very clearly, is out there. That you choose to remain willfully ignorant of it does not change it.

lol indeed.
Isn't it funny how all these self-important people are like "Ohh... but why should I pay to play your game when I can go play others? Hmmmmmm...?"
Simple answer to that: Just like in any other MMORPG, if you don't find the game to be worth the subscription fee, you shouldn't.
I just love all those "ultimatum" remarks to SE.. "Oh, if you don't lower the price or keep it free... I'll go play another game!!!! THEN what will you do?!?!?!"
Answer: They'll continue developing the game and providing updated content for those who are still playing and paying their sub because they enjoy the game.. rather than pretending to hate it after playing it for upwards of 13 months.
I wonder what these people think they have on SE by threatening to quit, bringing up other MMOs, etc? If these people leave, it just means SE will continue to get exactly what they've been getting from these people for up to 13 months: Nothing. What do they have to lose, other than one more person sucking up their bandwidth for free?
It's especially funny to see people like Dragonheart (and some others in these forums) talking about how bad the game is, "awful" this, "incomplete" that... Meanwhile they've been playing the game for months. In Dragonheart's case, he has 5 level 50s, a few 30+ and several others at various levels. Plus, his play history extends - almost uninterrupted, save for ~4 months - all the way back to 9/23/10 - two whole days after the "head start" launch date.
So either Dragonheart is a masochist to have played a game he seems to think so little of over the past 13 months.... Or he's full of crap, like many others carrying on the same way. I'll put my money on option 2.
That's honestly the fun part of reading posts like his... to see how it's the people who've played the longest and achieved quite a bit that seem to complain the most about it "not being worth it", or "not getting what they paid for".
It's like going to a restaurant, getting a large meal, eating the entire thing, leaving barely a crumb on the plate... and then trying to get the bill waived by insisting the meal was horrible, almost inedible.
In both cases - with FFXIV and with the restaurant meal - it sorta sucks any credibility right out of your case.
The only people who seem to be convinced by the doom-and-gloom posts, the hollow threats and the ridiculous ultimatums are the people making them.

It's all really simple... People on here want something for nothing...

My Threads: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/s...vBForum_Thread
If it entertain them for 12-15months...
They can surely enjoy it when its P2P...
It doesn't matter if its free or not...
Point is, It entertains them...
Or else why play it?
A game doesn't magically become not entertaining when fees go up, Sorry it doesn't work like that :/.
It has nothing to do with money or how much it costs
Point blank
Okay, so if it's not good enough to pay a sub.. then there are plenty of other F2P MMOs out there that they find to be "good enough to play for free" that will never have a sub.
I'd say it's a bit more than just "good enough to play for free" considering how dilligently some of them are fighting to keep it that way. Clearly there are things about the game they enjoy and want to continue playing for, or what would the big deal be? They'd say "Okay, well it was fun while it was free, so now I'll just go find another game".
But that's not quite what they're doing, is it?
Nope, people are stomping, pouting, threatening, demanding, pleading and so on trying to keep it free or substantially discounted...
Why?
Because they enjoy the game, period. They simply don't want to pay and would rather keep getting something for nothing... or at least for very little.
It'll be interesting to see how many of those here who insist they're leaving when subs start actually end up sticking around anyway, proving all their threats, demands and ultimatums to be nothing but hot air.
