Yet the OP and many others seem to think that it somehow can and should do just that, when it simply wasn't on the table at all.

It's like crying about the cadence of patch content updates.

I honestly think that what it generally comes down to is that some players have the expectation that FFXIV will be like other games that they like, instead of a thing unto itself. I think anyone doing that would be better coming to terms with ffxiv as it is.
You'd be right and wrong though, the game needs to have a revaluation of those older systems, people have been asking for the loot lockout to be changed, a smart development team looks at feedback and finds away to expand on the current system, or overhauls it. You say an expansion can't rewrite the core? Then explain how they completely reworked BRD, they had no problems reworking the core of my class since they couldn't find a way to balance it.

You can't expand a game without looking at something older, while the weekly lockout is ok it needs to be expanded, just like everything else in the game, it has become dated. I don't think the community is asking to much to ask for older systems to be redone, could you honestly say you wouldn't like the character creation to be more in depth? Or more waypoints to be made? Every aspect of the game should be looked at during an expansion period, and I frankly don't see a problem with people voicing there issues with what is being presented in this expansion.

Huhhh, what?! Im not saying or stating that the bard got a core rework, but it definetly not remained same for bard since 3.0. Did you ever play Bard before HW, friend?

You clearly never played BRD before or after they change the class. It was more than "adding a cast bar" the introduction of wanderers minute completely changes the entire class from level 1-52. That skill takes away auto attacks and makes preexisting skills more clunky then before, not only does the new 3.0 skills conflict with the older skills a BRD has, they took the toolkit of MCH and basically copy and pasted it without any insight on how it would mesh with BRD.

What you said is so ridiculous, you can't even understand how the class has been changed, imagine if in 4.0 they rework NIN to no longer be able to move when doing mudras, they need to be in a new stance that requires you to do half circle motions in order to use mudras, but that new stance also takes away your instant cast weapon skills, also makes venom and also makes kiss of the wasp a pointless skill, and makes all weapon skills aoe based. Fathom that and you'll understand how BRD was pretty much handled in regards to adding just a cast bar.
