Its worth noting that Zenos has a very Samurai look to him. It could be that something about his character is tied to Doma and that is what leads us there. Digging into the FF12 theme, perhaps he has a power behind him that he found in Doma and we travel there trying to figure out the source of it.

I don't remember who said it but in one of the other recent threads someone had the idea that Garlemald sends conscripts to other countries instead of having them fight in their homeland, specifically that maybe those from the Doma area are sent to Ala Mhigo and vice-versa. Maybe Zolvus is the ultimate representative of this even if only in job type.
