Maybe there is a misunderstanding about how the mechanic works? The master has full control over who has the ability and who doesn't. It makes perfect sense. And it gives you another option to prevent having to disband the FC. Yes, the automatic switch over will eventually happen, but it takes time. If there is an urgency due to the leader having a sudden emergency and leaving the game and the FC is hardcore, then having to wait a month or more is not going to cut it. That's where the promote mechanic comes into play.

Again, I'm not condoning what the person did to the OP, but people are trying to blame a mechanic that isn't at all to blame.
