I don't think I am allowed to say name or share screenshots. It's not about shaming anyone, I am just seeking advice. I am pretty hurt at the loss and motivation is low for the game.

A similar thing happened to the old FC I was a leader of, though not nearly to your scale, and the dude came back practically begging me to forgive him days later. So I didn't feel the need to slander his name. (I think a very vengeful co-leader of the FC did though. :/ )

But if the damage was as bad as you say and this guy did it in cold blood and is attempting to disappear, I would plaster his name and what he did everywhere you can get away with it. Make it impossible for him to get into another FC, make the server exile him. As was already mentioned, the GMs won't do squat about it, but the community sure as hell will, and the community deserves to be aware of what trash lurks among them so the same thing doesn't happen somewhere else.

Here is a tip, go look him up on the lodestone and get his member ID# so you can keep tabs incase he tries to fantasia and name change to do this again. One of the members that robbed us I would keep an eye on and inform FCs when they joined and shared privately screencaps of the incident so they are aware and could protect themselves. I'm not going to smear them, but I'll be damned if I let them do it to someone else.

Dont give up on a game you like because some human trash decided to do things as low as that... Dont let them ruin your fun!that said... if you were in Goblin server... Me and my buds could make their ff14 life every interesting indeed...
Also, you should let the community know who they are. Not so much for "shaming them", dont worry human trash like those things dont get embarrssed but rather proud of what they did, but for the sake of preventing others from falling prey to the same fate. Post it on rediit forum everywhere.

Maybe you should have treated your members better, so they don't have to do something like that. I know many FC leaders are acting like superior, proud, hostile towards new/old members. Even my own FC leader recently has been hostile against a newbie. Then he afraid of him and left the company.

Moral of the story. Don't annoy or harass people, communicate nicely, do good work.

Or maybe the thief is just a douche ? It would not be the first time and it probably won't be the last (I remember that post made my a thief actually being proud of his attitude and bragging about)

I actually laughed when i saw this topic. Because in the end, its the FC leader who decide which rank gets which power when its first made. If FC member that have access to making new rank and promoting, its the FC leader to take responsability to see what power is attributate to them andm ake sure everything is fine.

You're telling me that the ability for someone to promote THEMSELVES to a rank that's HIGHER THAN THEIR OWN is not a design flaw and that SE shouldn't be held somewhat accountable for incidents that are caused by it? You're kidding right?

Unless someone asked or read up on it ahead of time out of game, what reasonable person would assume promoting privileges would allow you to promote someone above your own rank? Incidents like OPs are common and this flaw in the FC system has been brought up numerous times in the past.

It's not a fault, it's a feature. You can choose to use it or not use it... that is completely in your control. If you decide you don't want to use that feature, it's your own fault if you create a rank with the ability.

No one is defending what happened. But there's literally zero logical sense in blaming a tool.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. This "feature" should not be present in the game at all. Nobody should, under ANY circumstances, be able to promote themselves or others to a rank that is above their own.

I'm not blaming the tool, I'm blaming the ones behind it (aka SE)
