Why?
Because they posted the only tooltip in the entire game where is mentioned a difference in dps role?
Show me another reference where in any kind of context being close or far away from a mob have any kind of impact in the gameplay
Way to go make all dps ques times go up even more. Samurai is very big disappointment using only 1 handed katana instead of a 2 handed katana. So classes that be first to level 70 will be the tanks and healers because they balanced ratio even more. Like to know what they was thinking doing it.

Why are you being so difficult and going "Well, yeah there's evidence of what you're saying, but if you pretend that evidence doesn't exist then there's no evidence."
You didn't get a tank. You'll live.
Actually, if you queue on the Raid Finder for Alexander, it requires a party composition of:
2 Tanks
2 Healers
2 Melee DPS
1 Caster DPS
1 Ranged Physical DPS
Unless you have a pre-made party of 8, then rules don't apply.
Also, i don't think anyone deserves anything before someone else.
Why would you think that you deserve something before someone else?
Tanks were are 3 Jobs.
Melee DPS were at 3 Jobs.
Why should either of them deserve their 4th job first?
I think they did a pretty good job actually, if you think about it, they did a full cycle pretty much.
2.0: SMN SCH - Caster, Healer
2.4: NIN - Melee
3.0: DRK AST MCH - Tank, Healer, Ranged Physical
4.0: RDM SAM - Caster, Melee
It's almost like they've gone a full cycle, with the exception of SCH, which was pretty necessary to make the raiding concept possible in 2.0.

You are the only one who seems to think these role differencea don't exist, they do.
All this salt over not getting a tank, stop acting like an entitled child.
I'm not bitching because i deserve it or some kind of bullshit reason like that, but simply in this game everything spin around dps.
For years tanks had basically 2 and ½ (imho poor PLD is not bad as it's depicted) jobs at their disposal and now we are still stuck with the same situation for at very least another 3 years.
As i said before the ability overhaul will not dramatically change how war,drk and pld act we can only hope that both 3 class will have a good balance from start because if even one the 3 tank class or 3 healer class will result broken due to the changes i cannot even imagine the level of rage that will result.
Side note:
Sweet baby jesus this char limit on post is maddening
the thing with the "8 man que" priority is that while it does start as mentioned 2 melee one phys range one caster is that it drops that considerably fast for the sake of speed to 4 dps. Also they did mention changes to the party que formula which we still do not know what they are. As for NIN it also did happen to come out before most of the current party grouping changes. IMO the biggest issue atm with lower lvl DF parties is more about overall participation in such across the board since PotD is just way too efficient. Even then when i do decide to do low lvl roulettes though i rarely see more a que longer than 20 ish mins.
We shouldnt forget that unlike when Ninja was released:
- Players are able to level the current classes to level 70.
- New Samurai's and Red Mages will be able to do Palace of the Dead. Palace of the Dead gives alot of experience points and players do not need any healers or tanks to clear 1-100 when doing the content as a group. The biggest issue when Ninja was released, was that doing Dungeons gave alot more experience points then FATES, since Ninja is a DPS class and DPS needed to wait the longest, queue took ages, so players decided to do FATES.
Personaly, I am glad that SE went with the cloth type Samurai and not the heavy armoured one. I like from what I have seen and while its too soon to judge right now, I am hyped and can not wait to give my Samurai a go when Stormblood releases.
