The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

Thank goodness Wonderous Tails awards you even if you lose. After my experience tonight, I'd rather eat a 30 minute timer than spend even a minute in an 8v8 match where no one attempts to push forward, is able to focus weakened targets, heal anyone under attack, or actually put more than bare minimum effort into a Feast match.

It's not like me to be so cynical, but too bad for anyone who doesn't have the Gloria mount, cause with the way things are now, you're probably never going to get it like this.

EDIT: I've got an idea, SE. Do you want to know what it's like playing the Feast with this asinine chat restriction?

At the PvP tournament at Fan Fest in a few more days, setup cubicles for each member of each team. Give 2 people on one team a mic, and only those two. Do not allow them to speak directly to each other, oh and take the registered teams and mix them up. Allow them to use Quick Chat only. Feel free to randomly give 1 or 2 players the wrong accessories for their job, or no gear for a given slot.

If they complain, be sure to direct them to the forums to give their feedback.

You almost got it perfectly. Except for the last part. It needs to be "If they complain, be sure to ignore them."

Honestly, considering the kind of things they actually DO take action for, it seems they honestly care more about people getting offended, than blatant abuse and rule breaking. Just look at the guy caught using a third party tool to cast faster than the game allows. He was also a win-trader, in Triple Triad, and Lord of Verminion. Their response to his blatant cheating in Savage? A small suspension, and a fix of their system. Had this been any other MMO I've played, he'd have been perma-banned.

The frequent inconsistencies of their moderation/rule enforcement practices are a rather huge thorn in the side, especially for PvPers who pretty much stand on the frontlines (no pun intended) of the double standards seen within.

Not sure why you or anyone else would expect differently...Even if the Chat Restriction question was the most liked question on the forum topic by a massive margin.

I thought it was highly apparent that the rep response in this thread asking for improvements to quick chat was their way of avoiding dragging the chat ban question out onto the stage for Fanfest. It was Square's way of sweeping it under the rug, IMO, rather than admitting to a broader audience that they're incapable of handling various aspects of PVP ATM.

Have they ever answered anything that was bad news? Short of people paying the audience to chant the question in unison Live Letters are fluff and not real developer/player interaction.
