I already had a word with them.

Edit: Looking at RDM specifically, it looks to have a lot of unique things that don't mirror other jobs (hopefully), so I would need to invest more time into learning it outside of group content, and concentrating on how the job works (whereas a lot of people just jump in and play, and we don't know how that will work out).

A rubbish player will not read their skills even if it flashed up in big letters use me. When I first unlocked AST I just stuck the tool tip on and did a few lower dungeons problem solved. This way I got used to the skills I had and got some exp.

There's no need to sit their for 10-20 mins staring at your hotbar. You can move your hotbar around as you move through the dungeon.

This whole bull***t excuse it will make players bad is stupid. People complained about players burning classes with fates in 2.0 and it wasn't really an issue.
Players complained when POTD came out in the 3.0 series and it wasn't really an issue. Now we have 4.0 with jump potions and guess what the result will be NOT REALLY AN ISSUE.
I think the main reason people complain about things like this is jealousy "Why should they get it easy when I never".

If you don't want to use them don't, SE already said many players will not just fork out a large sum of money straight off the bat and I agree.

They will try the game through a trial and then make that decision, but currently one of the main reasons people quit is due to the burn out on MSQ.

Then if you already stated that, it's basically the same?

"That goes into Death-immunity slot" on tanks, "That goes into physical/magical buff that needs to be up 100% of the time slot" on DPS, "That goes into mega-potency instant heal slot" on healers. You could mirror that regardless of whatever job you are playing. We are going to be seeing a lot of mirroring regardless of how you like considering Yoshi wants all jobs to be viable for any type of content, but that's a discussion for another day.

Now, if you want to buy a jump potion to level an alt on another server, that is fine. But I do not think that jump potions should be made available to new players and you should have to have at least one class to 50 (mininum) be be able to buy them.
Story enjoyment is entirely subjective. Some love it, others only care about gameplay. Neither stance is wrong because it all boils down to personal preference.

As for teaching you how to play your job. The story simply doesn't. The sheer amount of people who cannot even do a proper opener is evidence enough. Speaking only from my own experiences, I leveled Dragoon from 34 to 52 in a single day. And no, I didn't do a single quest in between. I just grinded fates for hours. How I learned the job is through googling and youtubing guides and just removing the abilities I didn't have yet from the rotation. The Dragoon storyline, while fairly good imo, taught me absolutely nothing on how to play the job itself.

Are people still throwing this nonsense around to justify their reason for not wanting the Boost/Skip?

It is more 'I had to do it and therefore they should do it as well'. Selfish people.

I think this is a vary good idea for those who wish to have their friends join the game. This is also good for those who do not have the patience to level a new class all over again. This a great for those who make multiple characters.
    However.
There are many drawbacks that I'm sure others have covered.
I look forward to the feature in the future.

You know, Devs, if you're going to give out an item worth 300,000 gil, why not seperate it from the jump potions?
1)You can make more money that way. Which leads to more inventory, housing, or other content for the playerbase to enjoy.
2)It will discourage gil sellers. Especially if you match(or better) their prices. Why would a player risk buying gil if they could get it legitimately from the Mogstation?
3)Gil is not capable of buying tome gear or raid drops, so It hardly breaks anything in my opinion. It just makes most pre 60 gear easier to obtain.(more people would afford housing and items off the market board.. but i really dont think that seems all that "bad")
4)People are already buying gil from outside sources, Despite the warnings and bans. (If they didn't buy it I would assume the gil sellers would leave and focus on some other game...someone has to be feeding these guys)
5)If you're going to sell 50 entire levels per job, to players, the last thing you should be worried about is how much easier it was for them to buy a shiny new glamour on the market board.

I know, people will think im crazy.

I agree if you can skip drg tp 60 I should be able to skip rdm to 60, I have way plently knowledge to learn this game on a new class or job withing a few runs of relevent dungeons, and much faster than a day one newbie. I actually havea real understanding of this game, in all of its roles. So why should it even differ for a new player, but only a new player? Lets allow this system to work for all players? cau
se this is really starting to look like a system that benefits only people who havent subbed for 3+ years only. I dig you want to get your new best co worker into balmung asap, but maybe this im[lication might actually cause a bit of seperation(level 80 new leafs) or otherwise any other manner, that would never be accepted or fair the other way around
