I had a great run of Baelsar's Wall the other day, I tank Ex roulette for the queue times but feeling brave with a BRD and BLM as DPS I decided to try take the first pull right to the gate. Turns out I can't do that and we wiped pretty quickly. Oh well, I apologised and took it slower, everything went fine until the second boss where I D/C'd at about 80% health. I manage to reconnect (they wiped) say sorry and then D/C again, this time my internet was down for about an hour so the poor party got left with no tank after 2 wipes. I felt so bad.

Side note: as others mentioned, that first pull in Baelsar's Wall is a pain in the ass.

agreed i never full pull cause of the turrets i only do the 2nd and 3rd pack together

I was in a Zurvan ex farm last night, and we had 2 or 3 good runs but then things were getting rough. It wasn't anything I haven't seen before and the team could've worked it out, but it was around the third pull that I noticed my pain meds (I have severe endometriosis and it wasn't a good night on that front) started hitting me harder than they usually do. I explained to my party "I'm going to have to go after this one my pain meds are kicking in" during Zurvan's snowflake stab. I can tell that my responses are way off it's taking me a lot longer than it usually does to tell who my tether is, but I've run the fight enough at this point that I can go into auto mode for most of his moves. But then after soar the dude gave me the marker for that explosion, and I didn't see it in time and we wiped because of me.

I tell the party "I'm really sorry that I happened but I really need to go now I will get you killed if I keep going", and went to find the leave button with my controller which took me a little longer than it usually does because my head feels like cotton at this point, annnnnd someone in the party pulls him again so that I can't leave.

The people who saw what I said made us wipe thankfully, but wowie wow wow wow at the person who thought that was a good idea to try to force someone who just said they have medical reasons for leaving to stay.

For what it's worth, this does kinda lock out a lot of people who'd be doing the level 50 trials, since not all of us run purely on 60s.

Yesterday I queued for trials with an FC mate. When we got Garuda Hard we made it our mission to do as little as possible. He put out one or two medica IIs and I ran around in my pretty dyed dress of eternal devotion and spammed a couple helios spells, put an extended Balance on our dragoon, and used essential dignity once. We both got comms. X'D

I think you misread. Those are two different instances.

1. Levequests for mentor roulette. Takes about five minutes. I put protect on the party and try not to overheal so that I don't steal aggro from baby tanks. Done.

2. Trial roulette with an FC mate. (Can't queue with other people for mentor roulette, dude.) We got an extremely easy instance that both of us were overgeared for. He did area heals, I threw out cards, no one died or even came close to being remotely threatened, we had fun.

I participate to the fullest in challenging content. I enjoy challenging content. I raid and farm extreme primals. But for the past few days I've gotten easy roulette content and it was a nice change of pace. That's all.

I'm not "that" mentor. I'm the mentor that stays when people drop party and asks my friends and linkshell folks to join in progress so we can clear the fight. But if I get something easy, yeah, I'm gonna take it easy and have fun.

Hit enrage three times in Bismarck NM in Trials a couple days ago. Only made it today due to clutch melee LBs.

I am more afraid of Bismarck NM in DF than A11s/A12s in PUGs.

A few days ago I posted in here a delightful hyperbole-filled story (because I am a bard, and what does a bard do but tell stories?) in which I got a couple (and their friend in voice chat) who kicked me from a dungeon because I didn't want to play their way.

Today, I bring for your consumption and amusement another story, in which I landed my pretty behind in sohm al hard with a trio of people all with the same name.

Allow me a moment to quote my hyperbole-filled comment on the subject of couples:

Let me tell you, if two people show up in your run with the same surname and they're not both "woah, same name" at each other, RUN. Same surname couples are 100% awful every single time I've come across them. My FC collectively clenches whenever they roll something with a same-surname couple in it.

If two then, are bad, three are... how can I put this delicately? Three is not something you run from. Three is something you silently endure. And silently endure I did.

I didn't say hello. I didn't comment when their healer immediately dc'd and we had to wait 5 minutes for them to relog. I didn't comment when the tank plopped down his salted earth on the first group of enemies, leaving the others just down the ramp alone. I did the only thing I could think of to get this to end on the third and fourth set of enemies; I plopped shadewalker on the tank and did what ninja's do best: pulling for other people. It didn't even go badly. They were bad, as my partner took pains to inform me on every pull, but the big pulls were not something they couldn't manage, on account of how you could big pull it on day one blindfolded with half your hotbars messed up from the patch's change to hotbar shapes.

They didn't kick me. They didn't even comment. First boss, the other dps stands a little too close to the exploding sac and dies. I am not surprised, but we kill it regardless. Ninja loot drops and I take it, I've earned it. The next pull the tank stops at the first group, again, and I plop shadewalker on him and run down the hill to the next group. It was quite a distance though, so when they all got to him, it didn't take long for my aoe rotation to get me aggro on everything again (because there wasn't any unleashing, abyssal draining, or in fact any kind of aggro generation going on at all), and then the healer lets me die. Pain in the behind, not much I could do about it though; I do not comment, I expect the kick coming soon. It doesn't come, the tank pulls the next groups as one. I... get on with my job.

Second boss, no one dies. I come close but it's a boss, the healer isn't spite letting me die and I get cures. Another scouting drop that I take.

The tank pulls the first of the next group, but not the second. I know the distance is too far from previous runs with my friends, so I just do the small pull. Everything after that is fixed so there was nothing to do but get on with it. My partner's outlining in my ear everything they were doing wrong. They're clearly the group that does everything together and thus can do no wrong.

We get to the last boss. Which goes... up to the last 10% I hit the lb2, tank dies to adds because the other dps doesn't get them. who then start running around. I've got the boss because I'm the only person with aggro worth a damn despite shadewalkering and smoke bombing on cooldown. I survive a while because it's too busy aoespamming, so I'm avoiding those, mopping up adds, and trying not to die.

The thrilling conclusion?

It dies at the same moment as I do, but I don't "die". I just stand there "dead"; it didn't do the animation. So after all that effort, I got an interesting death glitch. I left as soon as the loot rolled off, as silent as I'd been the whole run, probably being badmouthed by the other three in whatever their communication mode of choice was.
