I always pull everything when I get the Wall (I always run Expert with my girlfriend, so she's okay with healing it). Normally it goes perfectly fine, even on the first day. But occasionally we do get hiccups with that damn archer who can chip away pretty easily at someone else while I'm still tanking a lot of mobs. Both Selli and I do end up eating most of our cooldowns on that pull, but it hasn't been bad enough where she couldn't DPS during that pull.
(edit) I just asked her if she ever healed a full pull like that with a pug party. She said she has a couple times, but that she didn't have time to DPS and sometimes someone would die if she had to spam heal the tank. Most pugs usually split the trash pack into 2 pulls to make it easier which she feels works really well for parties unfamiliar with each other.

It's precisely because it has same potency and cost that it's a complete waste of space, I would even say it's WORSE in a raid environment, as in that kind of setting you're expected to use your toolkit to the best of your ability and cross classing a skill that is an exact copy of a skill of your current class is NOT using your toolkit to the extent of its potential.
I was in a dungeon, ok, people are learning and it's not top content so alright, qho cares right? (still a bit miffed because it's STILL a completely wasted slot)
But in highter tier content? You could have aero, or Blizz 2 for extra deeps in dungeons (since after bane + miasma 2 + shadow flare you basically have little to do outside of broiling things single target), stoneskin for extra shielding since adlo doesn't overwrite it or even SURECAST... I don't know. I just can't compute it.
I have a couple of stories from last night. Running dungeons with my wife and a couple of FC mates, we get... Baelsar's for Expert! Usually we get Sohm Al HM, and I genuinely prefer that dungeon to Baelsar's. I'm on scholar, which I am still getting used to again after shelving it, and I have only run Baelsar's as a summoner. I tell my friends this, and what does my friend the tank do? Pull friggin' three groups and get pancaked to the ground. Queue wipe. Thanks for listening to your healer. Anyways, after the wax was cleaned out of the tank's ears, we had no problems, not even with Captain Sloppeh the boss at the end. I hate that fight, seriously. My wife's and my internet connection isn't the greatest, so we routinely see ourselves out of his huge AoE attack, still eat it because the server doesn't agree.
Second story, Eos caused us to wipe in Wanderer's Palace HM. Same healer and tank configuration, tank decides to smack one of those stupid totem poles after all the mobs are dead. I shield the tank after that to prep for next pull, get placed in combat. Tank pulls, and Eos, bless her bug soul, tosses a heal when she sees the tank's HP dip. Cue a pack ganging on her and me not being ready for the following debacle and wipe. Moral of the story: don't trust Eos.

I keep getting Gubal NM runs doing leveling roulette on SCH that end up taking 40+ minutes. I'm dps-ing as hard as I can in there but it never seems to make much of an impact because it's always that super fun combo of the tank not pulling anymore once they hit 1 mob group and the dps being awful. It's frustrating.
Doing WT last night as a PLD to get points for the Derplion. I went to Odin and pulled and he did hid Vulknut spam and went to run out of the way and smacked right into the barrier and ate it. Situational awareness I do not have. Didn't die but it was kind of funny.
The problem with the first Baelsar's Wall pull is that two of the magiteks tether randomly, so even if the tank has hate they'll continue to damage the tethered players; and the Garlean archers won't move unless you get hate and drag them REALLY far. It's a very messy pull and the tank and healer really need to be on point and coordinated with each other.
I have happy times to convey. \o/ Got Sohm Al hard yesterday, and it was probably the fastest and cleanest run I've ever had. DRK pulled big and kept everything, WHM kept us all healed and holy spammed, yours truly actually managed to time Dreadwyrm Trance/Raging Strikes correctly between pulls (it helps that pulls were fast and big, 'cause usually my stacks die between mobs... ;u; ), so I usually had one or the other (or both lol) as a boost on each mob. MNK was a little slow when prioritizing targets, but he knew his positionals. Pretty sure we made the run in 12 minutes or less lol (I didn't think to take a screenshot,).
Last boss got a little shaky, (adds kept dropping more and more lava pools, me and healer were the only ones switching to them. I think we were standing on a tiny sliver of available space by the end LOL).
Anyway, it was a really fun run. Wish they were on my server, but alas.
Edit: I would also like to say that this gave me some vindictive satisfaction, because some peeps in my FC rejected me from going on an expert roulette run with them a few minutes earlier (there was space, but someone didn't want to switch to tank to make room for my DPS). They got to enjoy a very frustrating 40 minute run because they ended up with a gimp tank that abandoned them after 25 minutes LOL. I got into my dungeon probably 20 minutes after they started their run (them DPS queue times </3), and was still out of it before they got their new tank lmao. (I'm so petty, sorry not sorry, XD ).

Here's a little story:
Today I was rolling levelling roulette for tomes, and I have in-prog checked because I'm queuing dps. I get a 4m in progress SToQ and I'm like... ew Qarn, but I take the pop. I get in and ask what happened to the guy who left (they left without a word according to the group). When I catch up with the group the other dps immediately afk's, and the tank randomly goes and pulls the boss even though the other dps is afk still. That's cool, I can deal with that, I'm big and tough. We kill it, proceed through, other dps reappears, things continue.
Then things get weird.
I mention that a few groups of mobs can be completely skipped, and the tank responds with "If you don't want to do a full run then leave." I didn't catch when they said it though, so I just figure whatever, I'll help them clear out these rooms, I've got time. Then everyone just stops dead, I have no idea what's going on so I ask "what's the holdup?" to which I'm told "1. healer's afk. 2. you're making my job harder by not attacking the enemies I mark :P" I scroll up a little, and can't see the healer saying that at all, and yeah, I'd noticed I was just going ham and trying to catch the marks on their last pull. I wasn't going to make a thing about it. I point out that the healer didn't say they were going afk, and I realise these guys are actually just toxic and I'm gonna have to deal with it.
At this point I notice that the tank and other dps have the same surname. And it all falls into place. Let me tell you, if two people show up in your run with the same surname and they're not both "woah, same name" at each other, RUN. Same surname couples are 100% awful every single time I've come across them. My FC collectively clenches whenever they roll something with a same-surname couple in it.
They inform me that the healer is in a voice call with them which is how they know they're afk. Not too useful for me mind, but whatever, even more alarm bells are going off. Healer says "back", but nobody moves. Nobody moves. And three second later I get dumped out in the churning mists laughing my behind off because I bet the first guy who "left without a word" probably got kicked too.
Either way, I didn't care. Two minutes later I was in another dungeon, which went nice and smoothly.
