    problem is in heavensward they didn't add new egis . a-lot people where homing for new pets. so class would feel more like summoner.. fuck sake we only can summon 3 pets. one or 2 of them remotely useful. and they nerfed titan to oblivion. they told ppl that gonna release "pet gramour system"

    so floating potato is no longer yellow its red or purple.. I asked my friend who just started playing she used to play 11. what is one thing that you wish your summoner had. 1: better looking pets. like you said 2: more egis more pet selection is another

    problem is "Contagon" itself is so freaking strong. so either "Contagon" actually becomes a summoner spell. and is replaced something little toned down. then add more egi's or make it so that they can turn any pet they have into ranged dps/tank or melee dps very little differences between one another. but at same time still feel like new egi without making them too powerful.

    well but two and two together. we already have pet gramour system. personally "I think go with more plan B then Plan A"

That will mean a change for the SMN/SCH dynamic but since Arcanist is a DPS I think it is more likely Scholar would get the overhaul to be a more viable healer at lower levels.     As for SMN in general I think peoples issue are valid but there are several important points to remember. One is that FF11's model wont transition over to FF14 well. FF14 has a fundimentally different structure and any Job design needs to fit into that and be manageable to balance. The reason they didn't add any additional Egis is because of that. As it is the existing Egi's cover all the major roles an Egi could fit. Further Egis would probably just effectively replace existing ones and people would use whatever the most optimal Egi is. Egi glamour on the other hand is something they have been working on for a long time and we are just starting to get. We will likely see more start to roll out as we move into 4.0.

    The problem is substance over variety, yes we can have more summons but the more summons for what situations? Just examples throwing out of my rear are, Ramuh for what AoE? Shiva for CC? Seph for punching things? What would be the point since it all derails itself from the core source the summoner which can already do those things with Garuda and Ifrit minus the CC which you can just have Garuda knock back and then Tri bind. If there was a summoner rework i'd rather them have it like Demonology Warlocks in WoW Legion if you've ever played it where it's all about summoning your demons and keeping them alive and attacking while summoning stronger demons and empowering them. If FFXIV summoner was like that it'd be pretty damn unique but in the end Smn and Sch are at each others mercy you can't change one without affecting the other and right now it's at the right balance and compliment each other.

    This is why SE is never going to make another class a 2 in 1 package as it creates problems when trying to add or rework something.

    A lot of summoners aren't complaining about the game play style since it's a lot more engaging then it was in 2.0 the majority complain that Egis look silly and because of the story quests they look funny.
