Eh? i do not felt it's downgrade at all. is more like an upgrade to me. The rendering look awesome somehow, in some way. You're sure it look cheap like Tera, Aion? It look totally different and much better... .

I'm having a hard time with it because of how it looks. And don't get me wrong, I like the way it looks. But zoom in closer and look at the UI and then look at XIV we have now. Then look at any other MMO's UI. UI elements are defined and stand out. In that shot it just blends seamlessly into the background as if it were painted. I'm not saying I'm right, but I really have to wonder.
What's important is that they fix the clunkyness of targetting and animation lock, that together with these graphics, it could be amazing.

It's real, as well as:The more I look at this screenshot, the more it is looking like just a really good piece of art again. Especially when you see it up close. The UI is not crisp at all like you would expect a UI to be. It just blends into the rest of the scene. In a real screenshot the UI jumps out at you, an obvious overlay. I dunno...
In any case, whether this is a real SS or not, if the game looks like that in 2.0 it will get a thumbs up from me.

YoshiP - With current drawing engine we can’t display the shadows correctly. With the new engine light areas will be light, dark areas will be dark; we will make this part work and make sure it stands out. Also having ambient occlusion

YoshiP - Yes you can, however with current engine it uses too much video chip power. We will be carefure (laugh) I mentioned earlier but after receiving requests from players we added a limiter to limit to 30FPS. When setting at 30FPS I think the fan sound will be different. That part was also weak point about the drawing engine. For example this screenshot effect, this effect is already in FFXIV.GameWatch - with shadow it looks totally different.
YoshiP - I beleive it’s different. Current engine’s processing for effect is low; we remade the effect engine as well and shader amount will change. However this means the character hair will also be affected so at the timing of the New FFXIV in order to listen to players request we want to allow players to go through character making again.
Go to coerthas with 8 people find a area that look close to that take a screenshot without the UI edit in the UI in that screen shot then you see how bad FFXIV 2.0 look over FFXIV 1.0.
