Ok, so, I mean, not to be nosey or anything, but, um, what in the WORLD happened between your friends wedding and your own wedding that made her toss everything to the wind out of nowhere?
I mean I'm sure there's more to it, but the way you worded it just seems like it went from attending a friend's happy wedding to "go get fucked".

So glad I married my RL hubby IG...
You Indeed have wasted your money. I was just talking about Eternal Bonding with someone from the Hookup mega-thread on Balmung and, during our conversation they logged out and deleted their character "(Unable to Retrieve) in my friend list" or moved.
Be careful BEFORE you spend money! Better off making friends first and test the waters!

Seems like the answer has already been laid out but I feel it's a bit lame it can be wasted like that. This is a digital item.. its not like it costs SE money to give it back to you, I realize most people probably don't go through this but... meh. Seems like a bad system if you are SoL at the end. Just redesign the quest so it doesn't require you to toss it until you receive the items ;/...
It is just the way it goes, SE cannot be responsible for break ups. They used the wristband and got half the items already.Seems like the answer has already been laid out but I feel it's a bit lame it can be wasted like that. Peronally I also think there should be a change. It's not gonna help the OP anymore, but at least it will help future people who may end up with the same problem.
Losing 20 dollar without getting anything out of it just because of another person shouldn't happen.
That said, is it possible this is covered by the "one-time item retrieval" thing?
Basically, if you lose an item, you can ask the GMs to restore it for you. But only a single time for all eternity for the entire account.
I don't know if this would be covered since you didn't really throw it away but just want it restored to an earlier state, but I guess it's worth asking, if you are willing to spend the one-time chance on this one.

So it's SE's fault when people pick the wrong partners to do an EB with? Really?
I'm really sick of all these demands for SE to fix problems that are entirely the players' fault.
As someone who already has all the Platinum benefits, I believe that all of the items of the entire wedding should be available from the beginning, and the ceremony itself should be the only thing you wait for. Square Enix is basically stealing money from people when this garbage happens, and that is immoral. If I spend money on an item, I deserve the damn item.

To be fair, they could at least let them keep the items.
I mean, if you buy a ring, and the person decides to screw you over and not accept/give your ring back....You still have your ring. You don't flush it down the toilet afterwards.
