it the first result on google
that is reclaim, not how long you have to build on an empty plot, i is something like a day to a week at most, I do not remember.

Also that is not all what i was referring to. I am talking about how the Housing permits work, if they really work second hand and how they appear on the AH, like that Reinha said (cept for confusing auto demolish with time you need to build on it)

You have 45 days to build your house I put it in bold letters, directly from lodestone. Other then that I don't understand what you mean buy you only have a week to build your house? Cause there only one reclaim timer, I literally watched a plot sit empty with no house on it on balmung for a month one time. It was a plot I was watching before I ended up getting the house I have now at a different location.

I just bought a house last week. If you go to the plot you have purchased you can get everything you need from there. At least that's what I did. And I pretty sure it told me I had 45 days to add the house or I would lose the plot. I'm not 100% sure though as I was I'm a panic to do it too and may have read wrong.

SE said somewhere you need to build a house within a short time otherwise it will be reclaimed!

The auto-demolish feature is the only reason you must build a house. Such a time limit did not exist before the auto-demolish was implemented and since then no other patch notes have mentioned a need to build house on a plot sooner than within 45 days.

Resetting the auto-demolish timer requires entering the house so it wasn't really necessary to spell out the need to build one. I guess SE wanted to further clarify how the feature works.

Well until you can provide a link or exact quote from SE about it, I will go by the information that SE does provide on their website. Provide this information and I will concede.

Yup you have a period of time to build the house or the land is reclaimed. Like I said before I just did everything from the plot. I didn't need to go anywhere else.
It was a small house that had been demoed. Once I had enough money to buy a small (which was all I wanted) and the permit. I decided I wanted lavender beds then basically every hour on the hour I was ready at the aetheryte to see if anything came up. Literally all I did for 3 weeks was stand in gridania lol. It was worth it though

Unless SE will implement a rule of some sort where people can only possess one house per account, or be a certain level to purchase a house, the only ones getting a house in the expansion will be people who just want to prevent others from getting a house. Sure, apartments are a good idea. But it's not a fix, nor does it solve the problem of people with 500m+ gil who make multiple characters/accounts to buy all the houses. Everyone wants more than a little room to decorate. Back in 2.x, they changes small houses to have basements because of the limited space small houses had back then.

Oh that's right! I'm sorry, it has been ages since my FC gained it's house so I completely forgot how the system worked (not to mention I let my boyfriend handle all the paperwork ). Thank you for clarifying that.

Although you are definitely right, I wanted to avoid getting into the negativity surrounding the housing system and it's issues and hence why I did not mention it.

Also in regards to basements it was my understanding that the original idea behind their addition was that was where the company workshop was meant to go, which naturally did not occur (workshops instead became a separate instance accessed from the same door private chambers are accessed from). Not that the extra space was unwelcomed of course (all house sizes gained basements, including mansions).

Not sure where people are getting that you only have a small amount of time to build the house after buying the plot. You have 45 days as already quoted from SE by Lexia on the previous page.

There's only one demolition counter and it counts how many days since you stepped inside your house. No house, impossible to step inside, so it's the 45 days since you bought the plot.

It's possible to buy the permit from the plot itself (from the placard I believe?) but sometimes people will sell them cheaper on the market board. There is no real rush once you've bought the plot, you have 45 days to build the house.

I recently moved from a small in the Goblet to a small in Mist, but when I relinquished the house and got the permit back, I couldn't use it in Mist (housing area specific), so I listed it on the market board for 350k and it sold within a day. That person saved 100k off the default price and I got some money back (even better since I'd relinquished the house losing the money for that rather than wait for autodemolition). Win/win.
