Feast without chat doesn't feel like im playing against human components, it seem like im playing against silence npcs. Is that a welcome change to new pvpers?

It's really fun playing an 8V8 and having two tanks with 8/9 stacks continuously run into the backlines and go for healers, immediately run back because they took damage, and immediately run back in. Forcing healers to spend way more resources of their moves because there's no way to tell them to stop doing that.

Honestly? The only way I've gotten people to stop doing stupid mistakes is using "Nice job!" "Thank you!" in the most sarcastic way possible in the Feast. Oh you died with ten stacks? Nice job! Nice job! Nice job!

There's no way to tell people how the game actually works with this new chat system. That's why it's -not- fine. You can't help new PvPers and they end up having an awful experience. The minute before the match starts also opens up a HUGE amount of time to coordinate that you just can't do with these restrictions.

In regards to the marks, a lot of people really don't care about that. It's easy to say that those players should do something else. The problem? They won't. No amount of chat restriction is going to explain that they shouldn't attack x target or focus y target for these players.

So this is SE's idea of balance? a premade with outside chat vs no chat?

Did you read closely to the quote you are replying to? It is passive-aggressive, I am sure someone tried to give them advice, threw out some line that is basically "Do not tell me how to play, I know what I am doing" and people flip out. My friend told a person once "do not run in 10 people solo, you will be killed" only to get a reply of "I am new, don't be a cuck" I am sure a lot of people saying no chat is fine, have that attitude. They also have low experience if they think it is that simple.

Why is there so little communication to us by SE in regards with this issue? oh wait it is just like the change to feast. *blows MLG horn*

With something as huge as a chat restriction, I do really wish there was.more foresight and discussion with the community before just outright implementing it.

I'd like to point out it's been 16 pages since the Community Rep came asking for suggestions for improvement, and nearly every response or suggestion has called forthe removal of quick chat/the restoration of normal chat functions. I would call that sufficient feedback, yes?

SE, with the Feast season 3 ending this month and the 3.55 patch being released, this needs to happen along with it. I don't forsee much interest in the new map or a preseason/season 4 if this issue is not addressed sooner than later.

I would call the 39 pages before that, plus the dozen of other threads, sufficient feedback in the first place.

Did it change anything? Will the next 20 pages change anything? I doubt it. SE still doesn't have better solutions to its harassment problem, only the knowledge that people don't like being muted. My, what a surprise! I dare say they knew well in advance.

With a little luck, the next Feast season really IS going to be dead in the waters and they'll use it as opportunity to remove ranked entirely. Chances are, a month or two later the chat can safely be reinstated once the vets stopped fuming over that.

Hire more GMs? have better GM policy? it is amazing how little they take in context and follow a strict checklist to take action on, even when ignoring context means suspending the victim of harassment for 9 days. "do not harass me in novice chat" *suspends* THAT is the main issue for this, SE does not know how make polices with gm regulation so they think they can quick fix it by chat removal.

In regards to the harassment problem, I think they should strongly emphasize and create an instant mute or blacklist button. It would also be neat (but would take a little more to implement) to have a sort of point system. If a player has been reported for toxicity x times then they get banned from PvP for y time. Though that's easily abused too.

No mounts from the new PVP event, eh? Even after it's been out for all this time?

    Why am I not surprised?

Sorry ... but, what problem? SE arbitrarily decided that there was one without providing any reasoning or evidence. That's not to say that there isn't harassment in chat, obviously. There is, but ... so what? How is it any more of a "problem" in PvP than it is in PvE? Simply put, it's not. SE's is just operating with a double standard.

As for solutions, there's plenty of those, and removing rankings is not necessarily one of them. For starters, SE could refrain from segregating a specific portion of the game's population over a "problem" that is by no means exclusive to that party. That would be a wonderful start. They could also simply apply the same ToS to PvP that they do to every other aspect of this game, including these forums. Here's an idea: someone gets reported for harassment in chat? They get a 3 month ban - not just from chat either. I mean they get banned from PvP. Period. You want to snuff harassment out. That's a surefire way of doing it without persecuting ever single person in the game without just cause. It doesn't even require any additional manpower or resources, because this exact same system is used in the game already. Will SE have to buck up and earn the wages? Yeah, but I see no problem with that since we're the ones putting the bread on their tables.
