Not really. SE already investigates any ToS violations and harassment charges that are put across their desks, and most companies backup their chat logs for a short period of time. Technically, you could report whoever you like over whatever you like, but SE won't just take your word for it. Without actual proof (sufficient evidence or multiple complaints by numerous people), they won't take action. So, in theory, the only abuse that could be done by this system (which they already used in PvE) is if SE doesn't actually put in the leg work to go through the reports ... which they should, since they already monitor PvE reported issues/complaints. There have also been bans handed out in PvP over similar incidents in the past, including some which were posted here or on Reddit.

We'd be taking it on faith that SE is actually going to be responsible in a system like this, but that's still better than what they did.

uhmmm no.. I won't take ugly gear and a ridiculous-looking title just for another Kirin of sorts. I picked a total of 3-4 pieces for some jobs, and other than that the only use I have for Wolf Marks is levelling desynth skill (works rly well for 165+).

Well first, there's no special mount for getting all 3. It's more of a twist on an aspect of the Garo show. The hero had to defeat 100 "Horrors" to earn the right to ride. 10 Frontlines + 30 Feast + 60 PvP wins total = 100. Well played, SE.

Anyways, based on the statements you've made, it seems like you don't PvP because you enjoy it, but more as a means to an end. I would ask if you've actively tried to learn how things work in either mode, and exhibited a willingness to cooperate with your team, or were you simply there to grab your marks - win or lose - and be done with it besides? I'm not attacking or criticizing you, I'm legitimately asking.

But...you work towards those rewards just by actively PVPing. There's really no reason to not have them if you are actually PVPing post-3.5, except as some kind of weird boycott to the Garo event for some reason. Your achievements weren't visible, and I didn't see you on the Feast ladder, and you're not even wearing any of the gear on your current job, BLM, so I have no idea if you're actually PVPing or not, or just a PVE player who derped around in the mode for a little bit and felt qualified to comment on the chat removal nonetheless.

If you can't follow target/ignore/bind marks and waypoints, maybe you should take up something less demanding.. I hear fishing is quite interesting at lv60.

Amusingly condescending attitude for someone who sounds so ignorant in alluding that these basic, overly simplified, and uninformative quick chat options combined with said markers is enough to coordinate team battle strategy, tactics and commands at high levels of play. Makes anyone question whether you have ever ranked within the top 100 any of the seasons past or present, or even reached Gold or higher rank if you believe something as asinine as that. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you at least have though and are just merely trolling with that comment. Otherwise if not kindly keep oblivious comments like that to yourself, no one wants to listen to you talk about things you know nothing about.

Not a big fan of the Feast since its "free chat" days, as GMs would repeatedly neglect their responsibilities. Meanwhile, I did prefer the Frontlines, when we still had proper 24-player matches rather than the current 72 ice rush.
Since the patch I've only tried 8v8 (it's the only mode that pops now (!?)), but seeing the chat is removed I would be more than willing to try 4v4/solo again... no 10-line sound effect macro spam, no trash-talking because X player thinks we must give a **** about their ranking, none of this.

No, Dimitrii, this isn't joking: if you can't follow something as simple as a mark "attack this"/"bind/cc this" or even without these, ppl not paying attention to enemy CD usage/availability (I've seen way too many Silvers and Golds too failing hard at this, mind you), no amount of free chat will save your "strategy" or "tactics".. and "high levels of play" lol pls it's just a MOBA -it's not chess.

- 72 Man Frontline matches have always been a thing. But while people are actively trying to rank in the Feast, participation is low, thus 24 Man matches.
- I can't say it enough: No canned message can replace a specific, situational tactic that can help your team win. "Attack Tank", but your DPS wants to attack the melee who has 4 stacks. . . but the tank has 10 and would be an easier target AND net your team more medals. Find where a quick chat macro relays that same info.
- Even if people fail to see certain signs, we used to be able to cover each other by saying something if another member of the team DID see it. Under this system however, we either have to find the closest equivalent, or simply watch what we don't want happen. See above example once again.
- The Feast is NOT a MOBA. It's just not. Let that misconception die right here and now.
- You are trying to argue from the opinionated point that the chat restriction allows you to not have to deal with things you dislike from other players, but you overlook the FACT that this restriction has caused more problems than the one it barely solved. If you don't believe me, there are 56 pages of past evidence supporting this.

Let's disable chat in everything completive. I mean in counterstrike you just shoot people in the head in MOBAs you just destroy the enemy base. Even in chess, which is a terrible example because it is a solo game, you just corner the king. Let's do it in real life events too! No more coaches, timeouts, or communication between athletes. They just have to put a ball in some goal mind you.

How is it any more of a "problem" in PvP than it is in PvE?

Put like that it isn't. PvP is more than just Feast, yet the issue only exists in Feast. And that's "Due to the majority of chat containing harassment and not actual strategy."
Or, at least that's the current state of information. Feel free to go back and review the live letter XXXIII video to check if that actually is the reason - I'm not a native japanese speaker, I have to rely on the translations of others, hence the quotation marks. I personally have little reason not to believe it considering the amount of correct info in that unofficial translation and the lack of selfish interest of the translators, but you never know - everyone is cordially invited to do a transcript and have different translators take a look at it. The mystery can be solved.
