To be fair, all of the Blue/Red color from anything recent is rather ridiculous as well. OMG the poem has blue/red, rdm/blu confirmed. omg the trailer had red/blue auras red/blu confirmed.the thing is its fine and all to try to make your case, everyone has their favorite jobs and thats ok. But COME ON PEOPLE dont make stuff up, and dont insult not one but 2 cultures when you want to project speculation, Steiner was not EVER a SAM, the armor for one is that of a Knight, and Excalibur WILL NEVER BE a Katana, Its actually frustrating to see people grasp at straws so hard they dont even know what they are talking about to try to make their case. Im sorry it just makes you look foolish.
>_> but blu wasnt confirmed and it would a travesty in xiv with the way the combat system is, thats another thing that erks me people want something so bad they dont even think of the concept of the job and how it would fit in xiv... Spoiler (it would be a train wreck)
The "Learning" ability is legitimately the least important factor in making a Blue Mage work. It's doable, you just need to be a little more imaginative about it.>_> but blu wasnt confirmed and it would a travesty in xiv with the way the combat system is, thats another thing that erks me people want something so bad they dont even think of the concept of the job and how it would fit in xiv... Right back at you Frakenbeans. Ignoring data files thinking they are a red herring, and so on and so on. Oh, here are a few more 'numbers' for you:Projection thy name is Dorander
Yes I am in complete agreement with you. You'll see what you want and dispute anything that doesn't fit with your own mental narrative. No point in trying to to convince you otherwise. Yup I cannot wait till February when it is finally revealed. My birthday is during the Fan Festival and my birthday wish is that everyone will be happy and excited for the revelations and come together as a community as we all love and support this game. Here's hoping birthday dreams do come true.
1. Final fantasy 7 - Sephiroth
2. Final Fantasy 9 - Amarant has both monk and samurai skills. So, as you brought up, could be a hybrid. However, if you want to nix the hybrids.. That's up to you.
3. Brave Exvius - Cyan
4. Final Fantasy XV - Cor Leonis
5. Theatrhythm - Auron
6. They are enemies in final fantasy Legend 1
7. They are enemies in final fantasy legend 3
So, adding those 6 (with your subtraction and assumption I was talking about Steiner) That increases Samurai's "representation" Up to 27. (or if you scrap the hybrids - 26 to your 24 for blue mage)
So, please.. continue along with your hopes for BLU. Maybe you'll get your birthday wish, or maybe you'll be disappointed.

I think you may be a little angry at this point. You shouldn't be nor do I want you to be upset. I thought we were past the counting jobs part. I never saw sephiroth or someone in FF9 use gill toss or bushido. So is it that they have a katana they are a samurai, wouldn't just giving warrior or dark knight a katana satisfy your samurai definitionRight back at you Frakenbeans. Ignoring data files thinking they are a red harring, and so on and so on. Oh, here are a few more 'numbers' for you:
1. Final fantasy 7 - Sephiroth

6. They are enemies in final fantasy Legend 1 and 3
So, adding those 5 (with your subtraction and assumption I was talking about Steiner) That increases Samurai's "representation" Up to 26. (or if you scrap the hybrids - 25 to your 24 for blue mage)
So, please.. continue along with your hopes for BLU. Maybe you'll get your birthday wish, maybe you'll be dissappointed.there see problem solved. I believe Dark knight already has a katana looking weapon you can glamour. So in a way samurai is already in the game for you.

Agreed. The simplest way to do it would be that every ability we get that comes from a monster would just be job quest, meaning that every job quest we have would be about hunting a specific monster, and because of our soul crystal, we will be able to learn their ability.
They would be like the 1 person instanced quest, and we have to meet a certain requirement in order to get the monster to use the move on us, like get its health very low without killing it until it uses the move, or defeat it under certain times, stuff like that.
If BLU was a tank, it can even be a quest where we would have to survive a devastating high damage move in order for us to learn it.
The moves we get from leveling would be like buffs, and weaponskill actions or something.
That's how I would do it.

ROFL Thats dumb, yes I know how they would do it, and idc how hard you want to believe it, it wont be a legit blu. Hence the fact it would be a travesty and a train wreck. a BLU who doesnt have to learn from the monsters... it just knows the attacks and you have to use them all in a specific order... good lord that sounds sooooo bad... WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT THAT?
