Compared to maintenances most games have? Yes, it's VERY long. Even the regular patches are longer than average compared to most games. Like WoW's for example, 1 hour usually vs the 3 XIV has.

Heaven forbid we question whatever it is that causes XIV's maintenances to be so much longer than other games' too. While I can live with it, it still perplexes me, and there's nothing at all wrong with wondering about it.

But I won't continue to discuss it here, I know from trying that in the past that it's never worth the hassle on the official forums.

I think you forgot to take into account the amount of people that works on WoW versus the amount of people that works on XIV.

Not all understand how much QA goes on when you try to put in a rough diamond of that size in a server full of potential conflicts.

And that's why SE needs to modernize their QA and testing processes. Have testlive servers or something.

I can only imagine how it was when they patched in Heavensward, or how it will be when Stormblood is patched in.

Yeah and have people complain that the patch isn't coming out fast enough or something along those lines? No thanks we already have to deal with thread like this current one for a mere 24h maintenance.

Eesh, i'm sure forum will be hell when Stormblood release, i think they had a 2 days maintenance for it.
