One that that also seems to be missing from the current sets released are practicality. I greatly enjoyed the earlier tank sets as they lcearl have been inspired from real life armors. The ivl 250 is one of my favourite sets from HW as it looks like actual armor. All the odd spikes just look ugly to me.

You have some wiggle room when putting together an outfit, but it's still limited.
off topic but if you're part of the maelstrom grand company, the Lominsan Soldier's Boots work really nicely for thigh high boots without a flare at the top. Downside is they aren't dyeable.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

As a newer player, availability is an issue. I've got a lot to work on, and farming up interesting glamour gear is a low priority for now. I was able to nab a lot of the thavnarian gear quite cheap on the AH and I can see what that would be a popular glamour. Starting outfits are quite skimpy as well, but do look great and lend themselves to mixing with other pieces. Of course, being a tank, I'm not going to run around in a bikini to fight in. Building a selection of nice armor parts that fit my taste is a bit of a challenge, but fortunately I like the battleskirt look, so there are several good options out there.

I've been trying to get a feel for how many choices there are for the major gear slots aesthetic wise. AH will give around ~150-200 results. Most of those are just re-textures of the same set of models, although the retexturing can be important for a look. That doesn't include dungeon and reward gear though, so there is a lot not included there. My rough estimate is ~50 unique models for a given main gear slot (chest, legs, head, boots). A lot of those are just going to be unpopular for one reason or another. That really cuts it down enough that you'll find people that look a fair bit like you even if you're not going the bunny-girl route.

One thing I do wonder about... if/when Viera race shows up, it's going to be very awkward considering the number of people wearing bunny ears already.

My absolute favourite tank gear is one of the low level types which was recycled a bunch of times (mythril cuirass and the lighter versions). It looked absolutely fantastic on my tall, skinny frame and nothing since has come close to looking better. I would like to see some upgrades to that aesthetic (I get that people want to look stronger as they level up but mini capes and random spikes don't do it for me).

I would also like to say that there is a serious lack of recent healer headgear without weird red gems dangling down. I hate it. No more red gems! My shades are one of my most overused glamour pieces because so many healer hats look so bad on me.

Don't you guys take a look at your character and think: "Gee I look like everyone else. Maybe I should try to farm for a drop so when I do glamour, at least I can appear more unique and not a copy/paste of everyone else."
Alternate jobs I do not glamour. My main job, I glamour, and crafting classes, I've got a glamour for.

I can honestly say though, I have yet to run into anyone with the glamour setup I use. Butchers Crown, Best Gown Ever dyed a dark purple, and the Kettle Knuckles Nexus, all on an imposing male Roe.

Personally, I completely agree with the OP, because I myself get bored of glams everyone else is using.

But then again, I just don't care what other people do. If they wanna be generic and are happy with it: let them be.
It just means my own character will stand out more and I've gotten plenty of tells with people commenting on my beautiful glam/char.

in all seriousness though, we really are lacking some variety and depending on the class, it can be really tough to come up with some unique glams.
Having so many nice pieces which aren't dyeable or that are race-, gender- or classlocked doesn't help. It also doesn't help how some nice glam for the legs turn into a simple slip because it's clipping with the chest piece.

Agreed. The only true uniqueness I've seen is used in mixing race starting gear and hempen undergarments. I really like the cat camisole and use it for most of my "modern" outfits.

I loved it when tanks glamed themselves with wooden rank 1 swords and boards in FL pvp, they looked like total bums and nobody took them seriously until they started getting battle high/fevers lol =P

I don't get why the OP gives a damn? There's other servers and entire games you could play on, y'know.
