That's the mindset of alot of (established players). New players are welcomed, as long as I don't have to deal with them.First times belong in first dungeons, not max lvl where people aren't wanting to have to teach you how to play your class. I understand there is a lot of content to go through, but that shouldn't be our (established player) problem. Jumping people into end game is just going to frustrate the majority of establiahed players.
To be fair, when someone says, and I quote,The only way to have pay to win in this game would be giving out Super TT cards or amazing PvP skills/gear on mog station. So literally there is no pay to win in a jump potion. So please don't take an argument to be completely literal. The only type of potion i would be ok with would be either skipping 2.0 or after getting to 3.0 skipping that. I really don't think having completely fresh players at end game is a good idea. Hell even the faster leveling of PoTD is annoying. Lvl 60 players that don't understand how to play their class. This is only going to make it worse.
It's hard to not take that literally, seeing as they're literally saying its the literal definition lol."It's the very definition of pay to win."
And I understand the sentiment. People don't know how to play their jobs. But the problem here is not effect, its the cause.
People are capable of learning how to play their jobs, they just choose not to.
People level up their jobs in POTD. It doesn't automatically mean they will forever not know how to play it. It just means they didn't take the time to learn. It's not the fault of POTD, its the player.
Its the same with the jump potion. Yes, at first they won't know how to play. that's a given. Yoshi-P even admitted to it. But the jump potion won't incapacitate the player from learning. If they want to learn, they will. If they don't, they won't. I won't blame the implementation of a product that's meant to help without taking the human being that decided to use said product into consideration. That's just irresponsible.

Pay to Win is not restricted to some form of player vs player competition. It can also be winning (aka beating) content. That is especially true when most of the content in a game is PVE and not PVP.That isn't pay to win, for leveling up and gearing up isn't a competition between players. In order for it to be "pay to win", someone actually has to win. In order for someone to "win", someone in turn has to "lose". No one is losing, and no one is progressing further than those who put the work in.
Why else do you think, per the OP, that YoshiP is worried that if these jump potions are released too soon they would be PTW?
Then it's a good thing that the jump potion won't be released before Stormblood. We probably won't see it until a majority of current level 60 players are level 70 (4.1 or 4.2, for example).

To me, I see a lot of parallels here between anti-jump people and fake elitist raiders. Really, it just stinks of the same toxicity.
Personally, I've had a fun time in Savage. I cleared A3S before 3.1, A8S around 2 months before 3.4, and A12S around a month into 3.4. I think I'm a moderately skilled raider. Whenever they announce nerfs, the addition of echo, or the inevitable addition of upgrade items to 24-mans / hunts, my first reaction is not to cry about the value of progression / end-game rewards or argue that stuff should always gate out these filthy casuals that lack the skill and devotion I had.
No, I recognize that the personal experience is what has value and if someone gets an easy pass through progression with echo, nerfs, or better gear, that doesn't somehow devalue who I am or what I went through. When the hard earned gear, minions, and mounts I have slowly become more common, my reaction is not to cry that they didn't need to go through what I had to.
Really, the sense of self-value in some of these arguments against jump-potions is just pathetic to me. I think some people who have no other sense of value are just clinging to MSQ progression as their own outlet for elitism and don't like that SE is taking that away from them.
Like seriously, P2W? If someone could pay for a full set of max-level BiS gear, I still wouldn't consider that P2W because it's not like they are winning anything. If what people really care about is the value of the story / MSQ and not the value of their self-worth, then they should be calling it P2L because you are losing the chance to experience a great story. Obviously, they're more concerned with someone paying to be their equal than protecting the actual experience.

Give us some options to not play with players who've bought the potions in PF and DF.
I don't wanna play with someone who choosed facility instead of the way the game has been designed.
A perfect example of the toxicity I mentioned.
This perverted sense of elitism and exclusivity. What? Because they didn't grind through the MSQ, they don't have the right to be in your party?
Dude. It's the MSQ. Get over yourself.
Oh because i don't like the jump potion system and don't wanna support it im toxic ? Interesting.
Litteraly made a crusade anti-CS since months and the way this shop tend to become a pay to win is something i don't like.
I won't the support the idea of those potions in anytime, does it makes me toxic ? Don't think so.
The only guy who seems toxic to me is you, calling everyone toxic elitists because we don't have the same playstyle, wishes or ideas and don't let people express themselves just prove you're the toxic here.

I love teaching new players. But there's a time and a place for it. End game content is not that place. If a blm in dzem needs help with rotation bring it on, no elitist attitude, love to help. But expert roulette fire3 spam? "I just started playing" cmon. It happens and it's annoying.
