I raided in 2.0 because I like to learn challenging content and I like to play with my friends. Unfortunately a good number of my friends at the outset of this game lived in Europe. Which meant that when it came time to learn the Twintania fight, half of our group was at an almost insurmountable set-back because of high latency issues.

By the time Final Coil came around and I had seen 4 raid groups crumble into overly dramatic dust I just didn't want to deal with it anymore.

And then 3.0 rolled around and it was clear that the Devs had the wrong idea about what raid content was. Initial alexander savage, with it's dps/hps requirements that were so stringent the gear necessary to meet them wasn't even available yet made a very clear statement, "We are making content with our ego, not with creativity."

Throw in a year absence and the really stupid tomestone system and I can't summon the energy necessary to even gear up enough to be an asset to a raid team rather than a hindrance.
