How about just using a Shield is as integral to Paladin is using a Sword? Do you think they should have an invisible Sword too?I think the problem with the emperor's new shield has always been an issue with the animations looking really strange without the shield. Block, Shield Lob, etc. Take of the shield and it looks kind of dumb.
This is why I think they have said no in the passed. Creating new animations takes time and they don't want to offer something that looks bad because inevitably someone will say, "Its great I can hide my shield but my animations look dumb. Please fix SE".
If I remember right, they said no to EN Claws for a long time, then relented when demand on the forums reached a certain level.
And I do play DRK also, doesn't change my request.
That would look just as odd. PLD's animations used both.
They didn't have to adjust the animations for that. I also believe they said it might be possible to do EN fist weapons but it just took them a while to implement.

The answer to this thread has been answered already. It doesn't need reviving. It's a waste of front page space. Lock it and let it die.
It's not even up for discussion. The devs gave us a very valid and reasonable reaponse last time.
Lock it.
Make sure you post that in every thread protesting the cash shop as they have already answered and the cash shop is here to stay.....Can this thread be closed?

... Or wait, no, that isn't right. People have a right to express their opinions and wants without someone using the demeaning tactic of debate by dismissal of their request and a demand for their silence.
I think they did say that their thinking of making a very small buckler as a compromise, but that was while back and I've not seen any shield that's as small or smaller than a buckler since then
Maybe an Emperor's New Shield could be an ethereal shield instead of making it invisible. You do need to have something to block with as PLD, Titan could bloody break your arm in half if you didn't have a shield there.
Ethereal Shield glamour. It is made from concentrated aether for use by stalwart warriors in combat against otherworldly foes.
Isn't that the Padjal weapons? If not, I'd be so down for that, for ALL classes except Pugilist/Monk.Maybe an Emperor's New Shield could be an ethereal shield instead of making it invisible. EDIT: Stuff it, different idea. Semi-translucent weapons (so you can see there's something there but can see right through it). Do that for everything except Monk, make it available from Tararu or whatever the fella is in Mor Dhona where you get the EN gear from. Sorted.
I was thinking of more ephemeral shield. In Heroes of the Storm, you get spell shield and it's just like a faintly swirly bit of colour over your character. I was thinking of that, but in a shield form over your arm.
Would that come under the semi-translucent models idea I brought up, or is this again something different? I'm not sure if we're thinking along the same lines here or not.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
