That would be the devs not the soul crystals themselves which is why the op made their post advocating for a change. And I agree with them because its to small of a thing to really get worked up about esp his example. For this game to have a job system like this there is no reason to create artificial barriers for no reason, I can see in other games but on this one when you are essentially be every job in the game then whats the point in pretending like this is a one class per character game the system you want, works in other games like that, shouldn't really matter in this one. This game could have the best glam system compared to other games because of the job system but its currently just ok they could do alot better if they allowed more freedom.
At this point I'm not even sure you play Final Fantasy XIV.For this game to have a job system like this there is no reason to create artificial barriers for no reason, I can see in other games but on this one when you are essentially be every job in the game then whats the point in pretending like this is a one class per character game the system you want, works in other games like that, shouldn't really matter in this one.
Yes I do but I also am not gona act like just because I do separate quest, and have to have a soul crystal that Im not more than one job. You may over look this but I do not, Im still my same character even if Im playing different jobs on it.
This game has a rp community as well I rp, Im not just gona pick up 13 jobs and not try to tie them together there is no need to because if I was playing any other game then it would be set and stone that I was only one class. What lifting the gear restrictions would do for me personally is to for instance, my whm could be a caster version of my palidan, my blm could be a caster version of my drk, my warrior could be my astro in tank form.
I do this already but like ive said a few time casters cant wear heavy armour, so this is why Im not opposed to the ops idea. So yes lifting these restrictions you be beneifical for someone who actually cares to make sense of the job system in ths game by not making them so separate when by nature they cant be because your doing them all one the same charcter Im sorry that you disagree with this. I know what game Im playing and I play this game because I grew up playing 7 through 10.
Thank you for clearing up that you have never played a Final Fantasy game with a job system. It at least explains some of the outright baffling things you've been saying in this thread.
Yea cause you are referring to ff 11 , sorry I didnt play that one , I play this one and this one doesnt explain the job system and cant expect that everyone has played 11. And also that yea Ive played ff but everyone who plays this game hasnt so you cant expect everyone to be a die hard lore fan like you are.
Others just simply want glamour options, and arent as concerned about the lore from other games as you seem to be. This is an mmo so sometimes devs have to do some things that other mmos do to appeal to a bigger audience than just ff life long players.
And the devs have shown that they are willing to make such changes already as you keep saying you dont even like the current system as it is now, well other people do. Im sure if you maintain the attitude you have about appealing to a bigger audience is a problem in this game then you are eventually not gona like it very much because its an mmo and this game will do what they need to do for mass appeal.
The job system exists since way before FFXI. FF III and V, for example.Yea cause you are referring to ff 11 , sorry I didnt play that one , I play this one and this one doesnt explain the job system and cant expect that everyone has played 11. And also that yea Ive played ff but everyone who plays this game hasnt so you cant expect everyone to be a die hard lore fan like you are.
The job system exists in 1, 3, 5, 10-2, 11, 12, as well as various other spin-off titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics. 11 was not the only example of the job system.
Sorry i was three when ff 5 came out , my bad and I thought I was playing this game not those. This one is a mass appeal mmo that has lore in it but its not gona let lore effect game play forever, hence why they are adding a leveling potion to skip all the lore in the game. Because its called appeal to the masses, and wanting to be a profitable business like other mmos.
Sometimes you just have to get over yourself and realize that one way isnt the only way, still Im the only wana that keeps going on but the original post has more likes for the ops suggestion than not. And I believe that its alot more where that came from because this is a game not a set of laws that you have to go buy to play ,its suppose to be fun. Lore is not the law of the land its just not and it cant always get in the way of player options.
as much as I understand SE's standpoint of "Job Identity" with gear glam limits (the whole if that class/job can't use it u can't glam it) & that as much as it makes sence "lore-wise" for class'jobs to wear certian things... we then get lv1 gear that defies said "Lore" (Bikini-Tank's, Snowmen BLM, etc.) so I can see the other side too... add the fact that we're A) not actually wearing said glam-gear & B) our stats don't change as a result of a glam gear glam limits seam pointless (its not like u actually arn't wearing platemale as a tank if u glam into a bikini, enemies still hit the "Aethical wall" wear the origional gear should be... makes me think we're still sweating bullets on a beach in heavy plate under said glam example)
my personal opinion, if u'r "Avatar" can wear it (ie: u have a class/job thats high enouf lv) & it ant DoW/DoM job only gear (ie: gear for PLD's only, etc.) then u should be allowed to glam it
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau
