I think you might be confused. Or possibly schizophrenic. No to the contrary, I play because it's a nice way to spend some of my free time away from the grind of RL, the point is simple either you pay or you don't.
The problems many people face is that this game has become people's second job, that's when the fun ends and people spend countless hours posting on forums to justify the entitlement they feel because it has become their second job.
For me, i couldn't resist pissing some people off by letting you know how much i don't care whether you agree or not if i pay, i pay, for some of you this is the most attention you get the rest of the week from the world that cares little for your feelings, wants or needs.
you have made my day a little more entertaining, for that I thank you.
I think you might be confused too. I have not checked, but I see you have one 50 class. You have been registered to the forums since march, you have 21 posts at the moment. If you say the game sucks and is not ready for fees where is all your feedback that you have provided since march for the support of the game? Oh right you have been playing just to let off some stress from real life on a crappy game that is not worth your money but yet worth your time.... I see.No to the contrary, I play because it's a nice way to spend some of my free time away from the grind of RL, the point is simple either you pay or you don't.

Everyone has their reasons for playing the game, its simply i don't need to justify to anyone why i play because it's irrelevant to you or anyone else. But nice try.I think you might be confused too. Weather you think this game is in a beta state or not, they have decided they want to start charging. If you don't want to fork out the cash, get out. Simple. They need income so they are charging. I think it is completely fair, over the next year we will slowly see the game evolve. For a meager 13 dollars a month, they are giving you the chance to be a part of the world, watching the story leading up to 2.0 unfold. This is content that you will never be able to see again.
yes, and will I pay? probably i just love seeing people complain because that's the best your gonna feel the rest of the day.Weather you think this game is in a beta state or not, they have decided they want to start charging. The amount of posts a person has does not invalidate their right to say their piece. In fact, the more posts a person has makes me question them.Well, something that I have noticed reading the majority of posts from players saying they do not agree to pay to play because they feel the game is not ready and they would rather support SE with their feedback is: most of them have between 30 ~ 50 posts.
Most have been registered since march, where the hell have you been if its not providing feedback to better the game? But wait... now SE wants to charge and their free ride its almost over. You have only been playing to your hearts content without even supporting SE how you claim you want to. Hypocrisy is the only thing that comes to my mind.
Trolling, replying "omg lulz u iz n00b ur not lvl 50!!" or basically saying anything that doesn't state clearly your opinion on a matter and create a worthwhile post simply makes those numbers go up. I mean, how many times have you come across people simply arguing over something rather stupid on the forums? Seriously?
The fact of the matter a good number of people simply lurk on the forums. Nine times out of ten I don't want to post on an issue because of all of the trolls or the idea has already been said way too much. Think of all of the anti-power leveling threads started after patch 1.19?
If I feel that I should give my two cents, such as something like this for example, yes I'll post. Nothing wrong with that.
So kindly, don't get all high and mighty because of your post count because it means absolutely nothing.
In regards to this, yes it is wrong of SE to ask their players to pay to play a beta. If they had said "-50% of the monthly price until 2.0" you'd find that people would still be angry but a lot more would stay, myself included.
Personally, I'd love to stay until 2.0. What has happened with FFXIV is something I've never encountered... particularly because no other company has ever biffed as badly as SE did with FFXIV... but I can't afford to pay for the game at this stage for so long. We're not talking about a couple of months. If it was 5 months, I'd be like "ok!" but we're talking about a full year...
That's a lot of money from people who may not be able to do this whether it's because they're on a budget, or jobless, or even having their folks pay for it. Not every player can afford to pay an extra 12-15$ a month my friend.
SE has several options right now.
-Extend the no-pay period further so it is at least closer to 2.0 if not all the way until 2.0.
-Charge a discount rate- at least 50%. After all Yoshida himself said that the game is 50% to where it can be called an FF.
-Follow LOTRO's model.
All of these are temporary solutions until 2.0 comes out. Personally, I'd go with the LOTRO model because you can even make it a permanent model if one chooses to do so. However, I'd be happy with a discount.
How many times will it be "too late" till it finally is "Too late"? Every update since last year people kept saying "It's too late", just like every year after 2003 people kept saying x MMO will kill off FFXI.
In none of my posts it says the number of posts a person has invalidates their opinion. If you do not feel the game deserves $12.99 a month why have you not provided feedback to better the game? that is all I am asking. The amount of posts a person has does not invalidate their right to say their piece. In fact, the more posts a person has makes me question them.

SE does not have several "options" on what to do. They have already stated what they plan to do and is charge for the game as they feel is already there for fees. Which is exactly what they said in december "When we feel the game is there with the level of enjoyment we will start charging". In my opinion, is there in terms of enjoyment.
You mean to say if we were at 2.0 already people would magically have money to pay for the game?.That's a lot of money from people who may not be able to do this whether it's because they're on a budget, or jobless, or even having their folks pay for it. What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
I have to agree, its never to late to wait and watch the game develop. People are just feel`gipped that may have to pay to see it developed is all, most people will bite the bullet and pay before it's too late.
